Ok so I had some chinese take out last night and I got this fortune cookie that said this and I want to know what comes to your mind when I say-

"Good things come to people who wait."|||I always took this to mean.

Things that come too easily are usually not that appreciated.

You have to be willing to put in the work to get to the good things, whether that is your dream job/education, house, car, partner.

L|||i'm a very patient person and i actually kind of live by that saying. Has it ever worked? well...sort of. When it says wait it can really mean WAIT like a long long time, like months or even years. But there are times when it works sooner than later =)|||You don't need a boyfriend just to have a boyfriend.

Someday my Prince will come.

Stuff like that.|||Just wait one hour and you'll be hungry again. You can eat more of their good Chinese food.|||If you wait and then the Universe will deliver good things to you. Give me a fish-sauce recipe.

I want a recipe for fish-sauce that i can make. I smelled the stuff, and it smells like fish-food (i side-by-side compared it to the "nutriplex beta food" which I feed my tiny fish whom i named donnie darko.

Also, please read my "recipe request" for fried-rice as made by "chinese take out stores".

Also, I am an Aries if that helps.

NOTE--ALL RECIPES ARE INCLUDED FOR MEDIUM-GRAIN RICE, BECAUSE I'M TRYING TO EXPLORE A NEW DIMENSION OF RICE.

Fish sauce, is the boss. Please make me think this way. Because my current paradigm is "fish sauce is not hot sauce".

Also read my other question about becoming a co-doctor.|||It's nice to see that you are incorporating so many questions in one posting, sure saves the points huh? Ok how about this:

THAI BARBEQUED CHICKEN

2 whole young chickens
4 stalks fresh lemon grass
1 tbsp. coarsely chopped fresh ginger
1 oz. garlic, finely chopped (about 6 lg. cloves)
4 shallots
1/2 c. coarsely chopped parsley roots
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. coconut milk
2 tbsp. fish sauce
2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. oil
Hot sticky rice

GARNISH:

Chinese parsley, cut into 2-inch lengths
Red chili peppers (optional)

Rinse chickens and pat dry. Split chickens down the breast, but do not cut all the way through; press open. Place chickens in a large bowl. In a food processor or blender combine lemon grass, ginger, garlic, shallots, parsley roots, brown sugar, coconut milk, fish sauce, soy sauce and oil; blend until smooth.
Pour sauce over chickens and marinate overnight in the refrigerator. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place chickens on a rack in an open pan with the split side down. Bake for about 1 hour, depending on the thickness of the chicken, or until the juices run clear when the thigh is pierced with a sharp knife. Serve with hot sticky rice. Garnish with Chinese parsley and red chili peppers. Makes 4-6 servings.

THAI CHINESE STYLE NOODLES

2 chicken breasts or equivalent of beef, cut into flat strips (use minute
or flank steaks)
1/2 stalk fresh broccoli, tops only
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 stalks celery, sliced
Onion and garlic, chopped to taste
Chinese cabbage, optional
1/4 c. oyster sauce
1-2 tbsp. fish sauce (very salty)
2 tsp. soy sauce
1/2 lb. noodles

Fry broccoli, mushrooms and celery in vegetable oil until tender. Add onion and garlic, then strips of meat. Cook about 5 minutes on each side. Add sauces (fish, oyster, and soy) and about 1 tablespoon of water, cover and simmer while noodles cook. When noodles are done, add to mixture and serve.|||Dude, put the pipe down!|||actually hoisin sauce is a raisin sauce, a little spicy actually but good.( Ps I don't like raisins but i like the sauce.|||Vietnamese Beef Curry (Serves 4-6)

Ingredients
1 kg beef chuck steak, diced into 3cm pieces
1 tbsp finely chopped lemon grass
1 small red chilli, finely chopped
1 tbsp crushed ginger
2 tsp mild curry powder
1 tsp cracked black pepper
1 tsp brown sugar
1 clove garlic, crushed
录 cup (60ml) fish sauce
1/3 cup (80ml) peanut oil
2 medium onions, sliced
1 litre water
录 cup tomato paste
1 star anise
2 small carrots, sliced
200g daikon or sweet potato, chopped

Method

2. Heat half the oil in a pan, add beef in batches, cook until browned all over then remove from pan.
3. Heat remaining oil in pan. Add onions and cook, stirring until onions are soft. Add water, paste, anise and beef to the pan, simmer, covered for 30 mins. Remove cover and simmer for a further 30 mins.
4. Add carrots and daikon (or sweet potato) to the pan and simmer until beef and vegies are tender, about 15 mins. Serve with rice.|||fish sauce tastes better then it smells

I eat out way too much, Burger King, KFC, Chinese take out, buffet...I guess I believe I am not much of a cook, however I am turning a new leaf.

Please tell me, do you have any cooking ideas that are not overly complex and is very reasonably priced (and taste good).

...thank you for your help in this matter.|||Umm.. I'm not sure if your wanting to cook healthy home cooked meals, or just homecooked meals?. But whatever it shall be.. Just expirement, you'll never know if you like something unless you try it. Some may turn out horrible, but some, so tasty! So thats why, you expirement in the kitchen. I cant really give you any recipies because I not sure what type of food you like, But you can visit these websites..|||A lot of the prepared freezer meals are tastey and well priced. Check out the freezer section at your grocery store - you can find lasagne, ravioli, panini sandwhiches, chinese, personal pizzas, mexican and more. They usually take less than 5 minutes to cook in the microwave and cost anywhere from $1 - $5 in the store.
Some more "home made" options might be spaghetti - boil some spaghetti noodles and top with a jar of pasta sauce or alfredo sauce and cheese. If you are feeling especially ambitious - add some meatballs (buy the premade bags of them from the grocery store).
My brother is a bachelor in the air force and swears that Hormel Chilli (canned) can top anything (noodles, chips, hotdogs - whatever) and he always keeps a bag of frozen tator tots on hand, too. Those you just put on a cookie sheet and bake according to the package.
Other simple and inexpensive meals might be pre-cooked bratworst (by Johnsonville) - pop in the microwave and put on a bun; frozen ravioli - found in the freezer section - just boil until they float and add in some frozen broccoli and a jar of alfredo sauce by Ragu. Grilled cheese is super easy, too. How about canned soup - progresso and cambells make some good ones; kraft easy mac, etc.
Consider picking up a quesadilla maker from target (under $20). Keep it on your counter and buy some tortillas - you can top quesadillas with absolutely anything - even peanut butter and jelly - and it takes only a couple of minutes to grab whatever you have in the fridge and throw it all together for an easy, cheap, filling snack or meal.
Hope this helps some.|||bEANS|||Mac and cheese, add hot dogs, veggie dogs are what I add.

Sloppy joes are easy

You can buy cheap canned spaghetti sauce and add your own meat if you need it, and that can go over noodles. Or my ex husband loved when I used that to make a meatloaf, also easy.

Alfredo sauce is real easy even though it doesn't seem like it would be.

Mashed taters are real easy as well.|||Smithfield, Hormel, Armour have packages of PRE-COOKED beef tips, roast, pot roast, pork roast, chicken, ham, meatload. Use this for your meat dish with a side dish or two of vegetables, rice, or potatoes. You will find these packages near the meat section, they are not frozen.

Tyson's fully cooked whole chickens are delicious. I serve them often with S&W canned sweet potatoes, Stove-Top dressing, microwave chicken/turkey gravy, a vegetable, cranberry sauce, and Pillsbury Microwave Biscuits which are better than I can make. A frozen pie defrosted and fully cooked. Perfect for one or two people at Thanksgiving or Christmas.

  • I absolutely love terriyaki chicken, but the one at the chinese take outs, and/or mall food courts tastes so sweet, and so so good and tender! thanks!|||Buy a bottle of La Choy Teriyaki sauce and pour it on your grill chicken breast. That's how you make teriyake chicken.|||In the freeze section at your grocery store, Tyson has large bags of pre-cooked terriyaki chicken wings. Just pop them into your microwave for a few minutes. They are delicious. My hubby loves them, I no longer have to cook them. Tyson also has barbecued wings. Very good.|||There is a terriyaki sauce from a brand called Soy Vay. Buy this stuff at the grocery or at the web site. Put your chicken in a pan pour this sauce on it. Put in refrigerator 4 hours. Grill or saute up your chicken adds some veggies and rice. Boom better than the mall. You try it I get top answer my bet.

some days i'll feel fresh, pretty, and ready to go. and other days, like today, i feel so ugly and unworthy that i'll actually cancel plans, stay home and eat chinese take out all night...the all my friends having boyfriends and a boy never even liking me thing might be adding to the effect, too.

My friend is diabetic and she eats Chinese food all the time. I was wondering how bad this is for her and if anyone knows the average nurtitional info of an order of beef and broccoli w/ rice and all? It is a lot of food in one of those Chinese take out containers.|||Diabetics can and should eat broccoli. We can also eat all the meat that we want. Our goal is to NOT eat sugar and CARBS.

If your friend eats "white" rice, tell her to stop eating it. She should not eat anything white no matter what it is. She could maybe have 1/4 cup of brown rice, but that's all.

She should not eat the gravy on the meat and broccoli either - it has carbs and sugar in it.

I lost 40 pounds by not eating carbs and sugar.|||That is not something a diabetic should be eating...too much sugar in it!|||it really depends on what's added to the beef & broccoli as far as sauces and seasonings. that's where the real trouble lies. eating beef and other red meats more than once a week really isn't the greatest for you either. with her being diabetic, high sodium or sugar content of anything isn't good for her. rice is high in starch and carbs which are mainly sugars and little fiber. most american thinese food is high in sodium and sugar from the sauces that are loaded with soy sauce, corn starch, and sugar or corn syrup. eaten in high quantities this is not good for her.|||Chinese food is all wok fried... therefore there is a lot of oil in it... But, if she likes it, she likes it...|||Traditional Chinese foods (not the take-out kind) can be truly healthy, without the MSG and all the oil. Tell your friend to choose healthier Chinese options such as vegetable stir-fry (just make sure the veggies are half-cooked and with very little oil), fish and chicken breasts. If she's diabetic, she should really cut down on the rice (it's all carbs). Beef and broccoli's OK as long as it's eaten in moderation - too much of anything is bad.|||it isnt|||Yeah, that's pretty fattening. I don't know the exact calorie count, but I would guess around 700-800. If she still wants to eat Chinese-American food, then she should have her food steamed or stir-fried with the sauce on the side. That way, she can just lightly dip the veggies and meat in the sauce and it wouldn't be as fatty.|||gurl that is disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know at your favorite Chinese take out place - they have their fried chicken wings - I've been trying to find a recipe for them and I can't! I heard it's made with a corn starch slurry, then I heard it's all about the oil used ... anyone know?|||They're actually garlic fried chicken (wings). What you need to do is prepare your chicken wings. Boil enough water for the chicken. Once the water is boiling, put the chicken in for 3 minutes and take out to let it dry. You can put in the fridge if you want or need to. Seasoned with garlic powder - be generous with the garlic. Put in plastic bag and let air out and twist tie. Let it marinate for 4 hours or overnight or as long as it's safe.

On the cooking day, take out of the fridge and season with salt and a little black pepper. (MSG options, but they almost always have it as part of the seasoning.).

    MIX:
1 part (or cup) all purpose flour
    1 part (or cup) cornstarch
1 part cold/cool water - add more water if needed
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1/4 tsp black pepper (option)
    1/2 tsp MSG (option)
1 tsp baking powder (or use soda water instead of regular water)

The thicker the batter, the more bready it gets. You want the batter between pancake batter and watery. Add a little more cornstarch for more crispness. Flour the chicken if it's a bit damp. You want the chicken on the dry side so the batter will stick to it. Put in a deep enough hot oil (350 degree f.). Fry about 12-15 minutes - till you get the right brown color, turning from time to time to prevent from burning. Let it cool a little at least, and serve.|||Asian Crispy Chicken Wings & Spicy Sweet Chili Sauce Recipe

2 pounds chicken wings, cut at joints.
1 cup rice flour or all purpose flour.
1 cup grape seed/peanut/vegetable oil for frying
2 garlic cloves, crushed or finely minced
    1 cup water
    2 1/2 teaspoon sugar
    1/2 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon fish sauce or soy sauce (recommend fish sauce)
    1 Tablespoon vinegar
1 Tablespoon garlic chili sauce, tabasco sauce, or sriracha sauce.
Fresh ground black pepper to taste
1 Tablespoon cornstarch or potato starch

    1. Rinse chicken wings and pat dry. In bowl, add rice flour and fresh ground black pepper and add wings to coat with flour.

    2. Fry wings on both sides till cooked through and golden brown.

    3. . For the Sauce: In small bowl, combine cornstarch and about 1 Tablespoon of water until mixture becomes watery, almost milky consistency. Combine well, then set aside.

4 In saucepan, add about 1 Tablespoon oil and fry garlic until it becomes slightly golden. Add water 1 cup of water, sugar, salt, fish sauce, chili sauce, vinegar and black pepper. Combine well and allow to slowly come to boil. Once mixture comes to a boil, turn off heat.

    5. Slowly add about 1 Table spoon of cornstarch to the warm sauce mixture until it becomes thick enough to allow sauce to cling to wings. If the first Tablespoon was enough, then do not use the rest.

    6. In separate bowl, add crispy chicken wings and toss with chili sauce.

    7. Top with some sliced green onion and/or cilantro.|||CHINESE-FRIED CHICKEN WINGS

3 lbs. (about 16) chicken wings
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    2/3 c. milk
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tbsp. soy sauce
    Vegetable oil for deep-frying
    Salt

Using kitchen shears, cut off wing tip, cutting at the joint. Reserve tips for use at another time. Cut the other two sections at joint. At center of each section, cut to the bone all the way around, then make 5 cuts lengthwise from circle to ends. Mix next 4 ingredients until smooth and blended. Dip chicken in batter and fry in hot deep oil (350 F. on frying thermometer) until browned and crisp. Drain and sprinkle with salt. Makes about 32 pieces.

    CHINESE CHICKEN WINGS

    24 chicken wings
    3/4 cup soy sauce
    3/4 cup dry sherry
    1 1/2 teaspoons ginger
    3 cloves garlic, crushed
    3 tablespoons honey
6 cups vegetable or peanut oil (for frying)

Cut off tips of chicken wings if desired. Place wings into a large ziploc bag or storage container with soy sauce, sherry, ginger, garlic and honey. Stir to distribute all ingredients (except oil) and coat the chicken pieces well.
Place in refrigerator overnight, stirring around occasionally to make sure all pieces are marinated evenly.

Preheat oil to 360-365 degrees in a heavy bottom pan.

Drain wings and lower several at a time into hot oil using tongs. Do not overload fryer to prevent oil temperature from dropping too much.

Fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

    Recipe may be halved

    JM|||Ingredients....

    * 3 pounds chicken wings (12 to 14)
    * 1 onion
    * a 1 1/2-inch piece peeled fresh gingerroot
    * 2 tablespoons soy sauce (preferably Kikkoman)
    * 1鈥?tablespoons medium-dry Sherry
    * 1 tablespoon Chinese five-spice powder
    * 1 tablespoon sugar
    * 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon coarse salt
    * 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
    * 1/2 cup cornstarch
    * 6 cups vegetable oil

Cut off wing tips, reserving for another use, and halve wings at joint. Coarsely chop onion and finely chop gingerroot. In a large sealable plastic bag combine onion, gingerroot, soy sauce, Sherry, five-spice powder, sugar, and 1 teaspoon salt. Add wings and seal bag, pressing out excess air. Turn bag until wings are completely coated. Marinate chicken wings in bag in a large bowl, chilled, turning bag once, 2 hours.

    Preheat oven to 350掳F.

Transfer wings and marinade to a roasting pan or large shallow baking pan and bake, covered with foil, in middle of oven 1 hour. Cool wings until they can be handled and drain in a colander, discarding marinade. Wings may be prepared up to this point 1 day ahead and chilled, covered.

    Reduce temperature to 250掳F.

In a small serving bowl combine remaining 2 tablespoons salt and pepper. Put cornstarch in a small bowl and dredge each wing, knocking off excess cornstarch and transferring to a shallow pan. In a 5- to 6-quart heavy kettle heat oil until a deep-fat thermometer registers 370掳F. Working in batches of 6 or 7, fry wings in oil until golden brown, about 3 minutes, and with a slotted spoon transfer to paper towels to drain. Keep wings warm on a baking sheet in oven. Fry remaining wings in same manner, returning oil to 370掳F. between batches.

Serve wings with salt and pepper mixture.|||IMO, wash off the wings, coat the wings with CORNSTARCH ONLY! Then deep fry them in peanut (or vegetable) oil for around 14 minutes, preferably in a deep fryer. I think this is exactly what you are looking for and is SOOOOO simple. Give it a shot, and good luck! These turn out EXTRA crispy like the ones you are looking for!

  • I smoked a swisher today with my group of friends. I smoked a cigarette after to calm myself. Then I was hungry and ate a sausage. Later, I bought some Chinese take out and drank a medium sized vanilla latte. I had a cigarette after class. Then went home. I smoked another cigarette after I checked my college grade. I ate cheetos, a pear, a bag of cough drop, and drank sparkling water. For dinner I ate pasta. All because I had the munchies.

Now I have a huge stomach ache. I pooped 2 hours ago. It really hurts.

This is serious so please tell me what I can do with my stomach ache.|||If your stomach hurts only after eating there several diseases but especially three that affect a large number of people around the world are:

    Gastritis
    Ulcers
    Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Both gastritis and ulcers are closely related and similar diseases, their symptoms are very similar and both diseases are very common, causing heartburn, stomach pain after eating, gas, bloating, abdominal discomfort, constipation, and more symptoms.

A common cause of gastritis and ulcers is a bacterium called Helicobacter pylori, the bacterium is one of the major reasons that most people develop ulcers and gastritis. This bacterium infects adheres to the stomach, causing an excess of acid, which in turn causes gastritis and ulcers.

Both gastritis and ulcers can lead to major health problems without treatment and with the passage of time the gastric cancer may appear.

For all the above is very important to look after our health and assist with a medical gastroenterologist.

Irritable Bowel syndrome is another condition placed very common, the United States alone, 14% of the population has suffered from this disorder, in other countries like Mexico to 35% of the population have suffered from irritable bowel syndrome.

Irritable bowel syndrome has many symptoms for it is sometimes difficult to diagnose, the most common are that your stomach hurts after eating, often intermittent abdominal pain, anytime, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal swelling, intestinal dysmotility, in some patients also have fever, nausea and even vomiting.

This syndrome has more symptoms such as esophageal reflux (heartburn), fibromyalgia (muscle pain and fatigue), chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, headache, backache.
    What Causes Irritable Bowel Syndrome?

So far has not discovered the exact cause leading to the emergence of this syndrome, but there are factors that most likely originate from this disease are:

After having an intestinal infection many patients develop irritable bowel syndrome, although the causes are unknown.

It is believed that stress is a major cause, since in periods of great stress, the intestines contract causing constipation, heaviness, indigestion, etc..

Anyone can develop irritable bowel syndrome, however in most cases originate in adolescence, and for some unknown reason affects more women than men.

    Treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Appropriate treatment should be determined by a gastroenterologist, but we recommend the following:

Reduce levels of stres, this is important.Exercise.
    Resting.
Eating foods high in fiber and vegetables.
Reduce irritating foods such as sugar, coffee, alcohol.
Smoking Cessation.|||stop smoking marijuana seriously if your eating too much that could be ur problem and also eat popsicles they always help with the munchies and dont give you a belly ache ... sorry i didnt me stop smoking i meant stop eating so damn much lmao you can find other methods of helping the munchies without eating too much and btw i dont think eating a bag of cough drops is going to help you much they arent candy silly get you some lemon heads they are the bombalachacha i promise. they help with cotton mouth too ;)|||dont eat too much or your stomach could explode and that why u went pooped.|||no wonder why, its about your diet|||Lol! • We don't really have much in my house as far as healthy food is concerned right now. We have absolutely no fruit or vegetables (aside from some salad greens and we don't even have dressing!)

I'm thinking about ordering Chinese from the local Chinese take-out place near my house. My plan is to walk about 1.6 miles to a local shopping center to get my bangs trimmed. I will order lunch on my way back from getting my bangs cut, so I'll be doing about 3 miles of walking (in addition to my usual 3 miles of Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds).

What are my best options for Chinese? I'm thinking that I'll get my entree with brown rice and a cup of Wonton Soup.

Thanks so much for your help!|||Get Chicken and Broccoli or Chicken and another kind of green vegetable. A pint of that on Weight Watchers is only 4 points. There are a few reasons I don't like to cook.

    a. Bugs. I have lived in 2 different apartment and both have bug/ants problems as soon as I bring food in. And I don't like to keep fresh fruit around because of gnats.

    b. I like to eat what I am in the mood for. When you cook, you cook what is in your cabinets. If you want sweet tea to drink, but you only have kool-aid then your out-of-luck.

    c. When I do cook, I have left-overs. Then the left-overs don't get eaten and they go bad.

    d. It just never seems to taste as good as something from a restaurant or take-out place. I love Chinese food, and nothing from the grocery store ever tastes the same as from the Chinese take-out place.

    f. I can't plan a menu and stick to it. Some of these goes back to b. If I planned to make pasta, chances are that's not what I will end up wanting.

    g. Too many things go bad. I live alone and I can't even buy a half-gallon of milk because it goes bad too quickly, same with a loaf of bread.|||Ok, there's like 5 questions here and I will try to address them all because I have lived your life in more ways than you could ever know.
A: Bug Problems, well, obviously, everything must go in the frig and the pantry items have to be in a sealed container, line your pantry shelves with Bay leaves and hope that your Pest Control Service comes once a month!
B: Buy in bulk, then seperate it out in single servings.
C: Left overs are easy, just make sure you don't combine your proteins, starches and vegetables and with little research via website for leftovers or ingredients lists of what you have, you can utilize them.
D: Of course, without the culinary expertise of the Chef's, your home food will NOT taste the same, but with some basic recipes for fried rice and simple wok fried chicken and shrimp, your home cooked Chinese take out will taste closest to the delivery person without the expense and the MSG.......
    E: I don't see an E here!
F: We all deal with this, no matter what the size of our pantry or refrigerator, so this is where the creativity begins. Try and combine the things you love together and see how they taste. Don't be afraid to experiment, especially with leftovers, because they are going to be garbage the next day anyways.
G: yes, they don't sell enough smaller portioned items for us single people, but with a little knowledge, we can overcome. Milk can be frozen, juices can be bought in the can, mixed with our own water then seperated out for our own usage. Meats can be bought in bulk and portioned out when we get home, sauces can be made in large batches, then frozen in smaller sizes......................yes, I know these aren't all the EASY answers you are looking for but maybe, this could be a start.
Saving money isn't easy...............but it's a style that can be learned. I hope this helps you today and have a great weekend!|||Eating out doesn't have to be expensive.
Eat off the .99 cent value menu.
they have a great .99 cent value menu at Wendy's, Taco Bell .. and McDonald's :)

.. just because it's on the 'value menu' doesn't mean it has to be unhealthy, either! :)
.. they have .99 cent baked potatoes and .99 cent chili at Wendy's.
    .. they have .99 cent side-salads at McDonald's AND Wendy's :):):)

If you want to eat *cheap* at home; buy some Top Ramen Noodles.
They come in an assortment of flavors and are about .18 cents per package .. they're HIGH in carbohydrates so they're very filling!|||eat more fruit and vegetables, use salad dressing and real vegatbles it tastes nice. use real meat like egg, and bake and shake with the meat, its baked without the frying. etc|||eat healthy things when you are out and stick to that.cant you use tea bags then sweeten your tea then .use single packet sugars that way the ants wont get into them.if you lack focus and will power then nothing will help you have to be willing to commit to some kind of plan .|||Well if you wanna eat good you dont have to neccersarily go to those stores .... ..... .. you can save money by going to this place called DENNY'S they serve great food and each plate is only 5 , 6 7 , 8 , or 9 dollars ...... beakfast lunch and dinner ,, they cook great ..... they serve u with a smile ... they have EVERYTHING you want or u need ...|||Well, it sounds to me like you have to become more responsible about your kitchen for one.
If you live in a buggy environment keep foods sealed well and in the fridge.
    Freeze leftovers for later.
Buy milk by the quart, buy a loaf of bread and freeze half.
Gnats prob. mean you're letting the fruit sit until over-ripe.
    It's not rocket science.
Try finding a recipe you like and freezing dinner sized portions for later.
www.allrecipes.com|||ok. so you dont like to cook and you dont like the expense of constantly eating out. my suggestions:
    a. take a few cooking classes. you can get some good ideas for easy meals that taste great. you will also learn to season your food so that you want to eat your own cooking...fast food really all tastes the same, "fancy" restaurants taste better because they season the foods according to the meats.
if you are a big seafood fan, try using caravelle's orange chili sauce ( just marinate and grill....that stuff rocks!)
    b. there are a few essential foods that you should always have in the kitchen....that are inexpensive and easy to be creative with. canned stewed tomatoes ( you can get these in so many ways; jalapeno n garlic tom's,basil tom's, etc). also plenty of canned or frozen veggies...tortilla's....pasta...whatever you find that you eat most when you dine out.
    c. try getting the 'better homes and garden's cooking for two' of the 'betty crocker, cooking for two'....you wont have too many leftovers in the fridge and the recipes are healthy and light.
    d. the most important thing to look at is what do you most often eat when you eat out....those may be some of the basic foods to keep in stock and learn to cook.

in the long run you may find that cooking at home can be WAY MORE REWARDING than constantly dinning out.

and if you get bugs.....get whatever it takes to get rid of them!|||FROZEN FOOD
Now a days there's frozen restaurant food like marie calenders claim jumper and many don't have meats maybe cheese pizza
Brocoli with potatoes and cheese and there's many many good selection buy different stuff so when u are running late or when ur tired of eating out ull have something that fits what u want also granola bars

Okay, I have answered so many questions in this category that I feel like I at least deserve to put my question here... I have met an amazing woman on a dating website. She is exactly my type from head to toe! When I messaged her, we immediately hit it off. Last Friday I took her out and the night was perfect. She has been sending me constant emails and texts for the last week. After our date, we went back to her place and snuggled on her couch until six in the morning. Night before last, she invited me over and we got chinese take out and watched a movie. One thing led to another and... Yesterday I sent her a dozen pink roses before lunch, and a dozen purple roses after... I am completely enamored!

Here's the catch: The girl, being that I found her on a dating website, is going out with other people. Last night I think she may have had a date. There's no way she could be connecting with anyone else like me, but I am not interested in sharing! I am confident that I have made a serious impression on her. I'm just not sure why she is still keeping her options open when she seems so into me.

So, great knowledgeable ones of the world, do I stick it out, be patient, and continue my charm, or do I cut my losses due to a woman that's playing me? I feel like I have my hands around a lightening bolt!

Thanks for your reply and have a great day...|||Well first thing, be careful not to scare her off. She could be taking her time about dating because when she decides who has her heart she want to be absolutely certain. Even if she was on a date, it could have been pre-arranged and she could be going through the motions. There are a lot of possibilities. If you are sure of the connection, be upfront about it but don't push it. Let her know that she is on your mind but give her her breathing room.

If she is the one, maybe you can both confirm the connection (since there seems to already be consumation) by deleting you dating profiles?|||First off, I suggest you post your question in the Singles/Dating category instead of the Marriage/Divorce category.

You're trying to move too fast with this gal who is obviously wanting to play the field and sleep around. She isn't ready for a one-man relationship.

Is she really the type of woman you want in your life?

Do you really want to always be wondering who she is with now?|||May be you have not given her what she wanted.|||yes if you feel this women is who you want then be patient. The worse thing you can do is push her into a corner.|||Gently have a conversation with her about this. Tell her you want to see her exclusively. Watch for her reaction. It is better to get out earlier than later if you are with someone who is going to continue to " play the field".|||I think that you should let her know that you want to be exclusive. I don't think she is playing you, I think she just isn't sure if the two of you are exclusive and is seeing other people in the mean time. Bring it up to her, she might even think that you are seeing other people as well. I wish you luck it sounds like things are going really well!

As a teenager, I worked at a Chinese take-out restaurant where they would "offer up" all the food they prepared to the statue of Buddha. I was told that all Asians practice this as a symbol of good luck and for them to have prosperity at their restaurants. So I was just wondering if Christians felt the need to re-bless their food in order to get rid of the "contamination" blessing of the Buddha...? Or why even eat food at a place that offers a sacrifice to another God-like figure in the first place?|||lol, now they will try to perform an exorcism on it to remove the evil spirit of Buddha.|||ooooo.....huh. I didn't know they did that....i love Chinese food!!!! But anyways, i would say, re-bless the food. That should undo the Buddha stuff.|||No, I don't. I pray over Chinese food just like I pray over every other meal. I didn't know that a number of Chinese restaurants do that, and I don't really care all that much. I don't consider a Buddhist blessing a contamination. I consider it a gesture made by one of another following. I'm too mature to cry bloody murder at the sight of someone else's ways.|||lol..that's funny because im eating chinese food right now. |||This question makes me laugh! • I grew up in and around Toronto, Canada and I would, as many do, go for Chinese take-out every once in a while. Now of course, there are good restaurants and bad restaurants, but by and large, the fried rice tasted pretty much the same no matter where I went. We would normally order the pork friend rice of chicken friend rice. The meats lent slightly different flavors to the dish, but still, basically the same.

Well, I don't live in Canada anymore and the restaurants here in Japan make Chinese fried rice very differently. They use the Japanese rice which is very sticky and it tends to be very oily (perhaps in an attempt to make it less sticky?)... Anyway, personally, I don't like the fried rice here very much. I almost never eat it.

Instead, I'd like to learn how to make it at home. I can obtain some Basmati rice, which isn't sticky, so I intend to use that, although I'm not sure it's necessarily the best rice for Chinese dishes. Still, it's all I've got so that's that.

I've tried to find a recipe that will give me the same taste as the restaurants that surround Toronto (and most likely have the same taste across North America) but every recipe I've tried falls way short. I just can't seem to get the same flavors, no matter what I try. Considering that pretty much every restaurant I've ever been to gives almost the same taste, I imagine it's not a huge secret!

So how can I make this myself? Does anyone know of a recipe on the net (or perhaps your own) for making rice exactly like they do in North American restaurants? (I'm not interested in something 'better'. I just want to reproduce the taste I used to enjoy when I was younger.)

    Help!|||Try this
    Ingredients:
4 cups cooked rice or 1 cup uncooked rice
    1 cup frozen peas, thawed
    2 tablespoons carrots, finely diced
    2 eggs, beaten
    1/2 cup onion, diced
    1 1/2 tablespoons butter
    2 tablespoons soy sauce
    salt
    pepper

    Directions:
    1. 1 Cook rice following instructions on package (Bring 2 cups water to a boil, add rice and a dash of salt, reduce heat and simmer in covered saucepan for 20 minutes).
    2. 2 Pour rice into a large bowl to let it cool in the refrigerator.
    3. 3 Scramble the eggs in a small pan over medium heat.
    4. 4 Separate the scrambled chunks of egg into small pea-size bits while cooking.
    5. 5 When rice has cooled to near room temperature, add peas, grated carrot, scrambled egg and diced onion to the bowl.
    6. 6 Carefully toss all of the ingredients together.
    7. 7 Melt butter in a large frying pan over medium/high heat.
    8. 8 When butter has completely melted, dump the bowl of rice and other ingredients into the pan and add soy sauce plus a dash of salt and pepper.
    9. 9 Cook rice for 6-8 minutes over heat, stirring often.|||Watch a video recipe to learn how to make pork fried rice:

hanging out with this girl :D..will probably just walk around town and maybe go to a park. just talk and maybe ill hold her hand but...should I try to kiss her on the first date or is that too pushy? Like make out should wait for the future or no? what about a kiss on the cheek when we are done chilling? also, I can't drive since I'm not old enough(gotta be 17..a year short) so if she gets hungry and if we need to walk somewhere...there isn't an restaurants near us..just like chinese take out and a deli...would it be weird taking her to something that or no? I could take her to 7-11..lol|||No pushing or anything, just what comes naturally, you'll find the feeling..|||Where you take her for food is not as important is that you take her
    don't just go together.
try kissing her neck when you hug her
if she stays embraced to you and looks at you
take that as an invitation to kiss her
    not heavy
    be subtle
peck her on her lips and be patient|||So your like 16, man if you are dateing her just chilll out. And it will work out lol and if it dose not she is not the right girl and its okay to kiss her on the check if she looks like she wants more. Kiss her lips just once like a peck then go from there|||take her to a deli and sit at the park while eating sandwiches. you can kiss her on the cheek afterwards and you'll know if she wants something more|||kiss her when you say goodbye, if she seems as though she wants to kiss you! But nothing too full on, a quick peck on the lips or cheek ;D|||Hii There (: - - - Hope this helps

Im just gonna start by saying.. Dont Makeout!!! One of my boyfriends did that on our first real date and I thought it was nice, but now that i think about it.. he cheated on me and was really trashy.. and thats too fast .. so no on the makin out--- even tho yes it is fun XD

Start with cheek always.. if she enjoys it go in for the lips or she wil..

if she doesnt she will be like confused, maybe change of mood..

make sure yall are really connecting.. and it should be towards the end of the date or a few hours or so into it..|||Dont try to kiss her.

So, great knowledgeable ones of the world, do I stick it out, be patient, and continue my charm, or do I cut my losses due to a woman that's playing me? I feel like I have my hands around a lightening bolt!

Thanks for your reply and have a great day...|||STOP being so darn nice to her. Let her know that if she is going to continue to "date" other people, you are gone. She has to make a choice. Its that easy. If she has any feelings for you , she will be on your doorstep.

Good Luck|||give it 3 weeks and than an ultimatum. it's too soon for her to trust you yet|||You have to just come out and ask her if she is seeing other people. Then just tell her what you told us. That you don't want to share her. Ask if she is on the same page with you. If she's not and that is not ok with you, then move on. It's really pretty straight forward.|||You are enamored, but it's only been a week. My husband and I met online, and he quickly made a deal of closing his online account, but it was a little weird. I wasn't really interested in others, but I thought he was trying to "sew me up." If you'd met her a different way, she'd probably have some loose ends, too. I think you'd be smart to be patient for a month or so. You may change your mind by then, anyway. You two don't know each other at all, really. Even if there's chemistry. If she's the one, you don't want to run her off.|||Talk to her, let her know you aren't wanting to do the whole seeing other people thing.|||Hey, she's keeping her options open, just because you've had a coupe good nights, doesn't mean it's going to work out. I don't blame her for moving slow and dating other people, when she does finally make a choice, she'll KNOW for sure who she wants to be with! If you want to wait, fine, if not, that's fine too, but you have no right to push her just because of how YOU feel! She's was honest and open about her dating others and either you accept it or you don't!|||Be honest with her, and tell her how you feel. Tell her that you want to be monogamous with her. She might not be dating anyone else anyway. If she was not interested in you, she would not show you all that attention. I think you got this one man!|||Are you sure she knows you aren't seeing anyone else? If not let her know. But you can't expect her to just become exclusive without telling her that's what you would like. If your so into her stick around. Its not like she is leading you on she might be feeling the same way but isn't sure where you stand right now either.|||It sounds like you have a really good thing going on here. Talk to her about seeing each other exclusively and see what she has to say about that. Let her know how you feel. Who knows, maybe the other man/men she's dated since your last date haven't measured up.

Congrats on your find and the BEST of luck to you!|||You should hang in there and see how things develop. You can't really blame her for dating and may have had the date already planned since you just met her in person less than a week ago. Once you have more time with her things will get more exclusive but now she's just taking care of unfinished business.|||Give it a little time. Maybe she had already made commitments through the dating site to go out with these other people. If you connected like you say, you probably won't have to share much (any) longer!|||I'd say you have every right to ask her what her intensions are (for lack of a better word). You deserve to know if she has the same interests in you, and if she doesn't then she needs to be honest with you. If she does have the same interests in you, then she needs to cut outside dating out of her life! Maybe she's waiting on you to have the big DTR talk (Defining the Relationship). Good luck! :)|||I would say stick it out! If you really like her just keep up the things your are doing in no time she will be eating out of the palm of your hand! Good luck|||Tell her that you are really interested in her and you would like her to be your girlfriend, also, she may have already had plans for that date and did not want to be rude to him. I would be surprised if (and this is assuming that it was a date) anything happened. She sounds like she really likes you so ask her to take it one step further.

I have some family here in southern Massachusetts from the San Francisco bay area (Castro Valley) and we had Chinese take out. They were pretty much horrified at what passed for Chinese food here in Massachusetts.
For example, the roasted pork chow mein we ordered was the dry kind of chow mein type we had to soften ourselves when it got home (it seems the bay area version is more noodle-like than the dry stuff we get served here on in MA). Also, the sweet and sour pork here in MA is 3-inch long pieces of pork in a white/golden brown batter with an orange sweet and sour sauce. The bay area version I'm not too sure about except that it looks much different (and the taste too) and comes with different things like cabbage, etc on the plate.

Why is there such a marked difference in what has the same name (i.e. chow mein and sweet and sour pork). I'm sure there's other differences, that's just what we ordered here in Massachusetts. I'm just curious what passes for Chinese food in CA and why it's so different here on the east coast. Also, the place we ordered the food from here in MA has great reviews and is always mentioned as one of the better Asian restaurants in our town.

Thanks!!|||No one seems to have a good answer for you, and neither do I. I know what you are talking about, however. (I also know about the differences between real Asian food and American Asian food from my travels to Asia, but that is not the point of your question). I grew up on the West Coast, and moved as an adult to the East Coast. The first time I ordered the sweet and sour pork on the East Coast, I was horrified. What is that stuff? It was one of my favorite dishes while growing up on the West Coast. No answers for you, but I learned not to order it again. They all make it like that on the East Coast. I suppose it is just one of those regional quirks. Like, New Englanders like their hot dog buns sliced on the top, not the side.

Now, don't even get me started on the bad Mexican food on the East Coast. I grew up in California, and I thought everyone could get a good chile relleno throughout the country. The few I've had out here have been deep-friend (ugh).

Give your friends some clamcakes and fried dough. We never had those things on the West Coast growing up, and I learned to like them a lot. |||all i can tell you is that if you ate REAL!! chinese food u might be grossed out, chinese people are known for their exotic tastes, they eat things (talking about real china) u would not imagine. i tell you from experiance, i make myself believe that chinese food in america is the REAL!!! kinda food, because in china the REAL!! food is... um just not as good as the not real american chinese food hehe|||Chinese food in the US is all Americanized.

If you think you are eating Chinese food in the US .
    you are in fantasy land

The average American would not eat real Chinese food.
nor would the FDA allow it.|||different ingredients used.

=]|||its a questionof how much soy sauce they use|||I don't think it is necessarily an East Coast / West Coast thing, it might be an "American Chinese food" versus "real chinese food" thing.

There are a lot of restaurants that have "Americanized" Chinese food that looks nothing like what is traditionally served in China.

there are also many, many kinds of Chinese cuisine - Hong Kong style, Scezchan, Mandarin, etc.

San Francisco has an enormous Asian population - much richer and more diverse than what is probably found in Massachusetts. So that is probably the difference.

It's the same reason that people in Texas, Arizona, and California long for authentic Mexican food when they're in the East.|||Where you are from always has the best Chinese food. Its all about what you are use to and what you are use to eating. The food from where i live is like the best to me, I have found none to compare, but I am sure eating it for most of my childhood (left my state at 19), helped make it the best. Every place makes it different. Where I am from the Shrimp and broccoli have big jumbo shrimp and big broccoli, but when I went moved to Louisiana it was small shrimp and broccoli. I am use to brown sauce with this item, but this place in NY I ate at had white sauce (gross...to me of course), so it depends on what you are use to, I say.|||It's not an East Coast/West Coast thing.

There is a standard style of cuisine in this country I would call "restaurant Chinese". In fact, the food is so standardized that it would appear the restaurants just buy the menus preprinted from a central supplier. In the absence of a large ethnic Chinese population that demands more authentic Chinese food, this is what you get. So you know what to expect in Massachusetts, in Florida, in Indiana, in Montana...

In certain large areas on the West Coast there are large enough populations that demand real authentic Chinese food that you end up with something very different. So basically it is the West Coast that is the exception.

As far as the crunchy noodles go, you're supposed to eat them hard.

You can find authentic Chinese food in Chinatown. Seeing as how I don't get there very often, I prefer to cook Chinese food at home from cookbooks.

The food from this place has an odd smell that the others don't: kind of a sour milky smell but it doesn't contain any milk. What could it be?|||that all depends on what the food you ordered was, the Chinese have a very different way of cooking to us, they tend to have a lot of additives natural & other items like monosodium glutamate. this enhances the flavour of food but can also cause allergies. your "off smell" was most likley caused by their "stock"(base for most sauces) if you tell me what your food was i could answer your question better!|||Well maybe if you put down what you ordered that would help.

ordering from my favorite chinese take out....want to try something different besides lobster fried rice and egg rolls. will I like cheese wonton and dim sum? I always hear about them...|||It's hard to say what anyone will or will not like. Cheese/cream cheese wontons are definitely americanized, even relative to the usual americanized Chinese food served in the USA. So my guess is that they would be more palatable to your tastes (assuming you are American). Dim sum is a really a variety of lighter dishes (as in steamed vs fried and drenched in sauce) often eaten with tea. So there is no single dim sum dish. You may like some more than others. You just have to try different ones. Do you have a bunch of friends who like Chinese food or are willing to try? If so, go to a restaurant serving dim sum and order several dishes to share amongst the group. That's the best way to taste a variety of dishes and also split the cost, since dimsum can be pricey.|||I know that the fried cheese won tons are fabulous...the dim sum...IDK...so tell me all about afterwards...|||I like them....cheese wonton are really a mixture of fake crab and cream cheese stuffed inside a wonton wrapper and deep fried while dim sum are wontons filled with meat then pan fried or steamed. About Dim Sum, there are some that are good and some most people would have a hard time trying, for example, "chicken feet", it's part of the menu for Dim Sum, I've seen it all the time but don't like it much. I've tried almost all kinds of Dim Sum and that would be my least favorite.|||While we certainly cannot tell you what you'll like or not since taste is subjective, one of my very favorite things are wontons. But you'll never know until you try them, so go for it.|||I've never had a cheese wonton, but I make cream cheese wontons that are pretty good. Dim Sum is good too. If you like Chinese food, then you will probably like anything on the menu. I have yet to have Chinese food I don't like.|||Haven't try cheese wonton, so don't no. You will love dim sum bc you get to see the food and pick whatever you like to eat or try. It's fun eating a little of everything instead of order one or two main course, but it's kind of expensive. ok so im on a budget and im having a bday party on the 25th i wanted to order chinese take out for 10 poeple who much will that cost?? i dont want to spend more then 25$ on food [not including snacks] do you think its gunna be somewhere in that area?|||You can probably find a place that makes good chinese food for cheap. Like by my house there is a amazing chinese place that sells most of their stuff for $5. Their plates can feed like three people. I bet there's a small chinese restaurant that is like that in your area.

You can also try to make your own chinese food. Spring rolls are easy to make lol.

If not then order the pizza. Dominoes does medium pizzas for $5 each so you can buy 5 medium pizzas. That is, if they do that deal in your area.

You can also have a potluck type of thing and have your friends each bring a dish.

$25 isn't going to get you very far.

=[|||What do you mean by takeout?
Do you mean go to a resturant, order their dishes to go?
That would be wayy more than $25. when my family goes out to eat chinese food(which is all the time cause i'm chinese), it's usually around $30-40 for 4 people, about 5 dishes, but we usually have leftover.
If you mean takeout as in fried rice and noodles, you might be able to get it for about $25. In the Chinatown over here in Sf, a box of fried rice/noodles is $1...
So maybe go to your local chinatown and ask them about big orders in one of those giant foiled pans.|||Food for ten people will DEFINITELY be more than $25. If it's possible to get some recipes and try to make it, I think that would be the best bet. And buy what is too difficult to make or just something like egg rolls. But I bet it will be at least twice that amount for 10 people. Probably more, depending on how much they eat.|||Why don't you ask everyone at the party to bring $5?
That way you'll have $50 which will almost provide for you all. Plus if you have $25 on top of the $50 you'll have $75.
This means that $75 dollars would easily feed you all with decent chinese food.

Derrr :)|||i must say i'm not a big chinese food eater. but i do know pizza and if you want that to be cheaper then order only cheese pizza then have your own toppings that each person can put on their slice.|||thats almost impossible, if it is actually that cheap, you should second guess the stuff they put into the food ... -_- i think 2 extra larges or a party size would be enough|||most dishes that will at least satisfy a person is $6-8 per dish...you could go ghetto and buy 25 eggrolls for .99 cents each...|||you could do it....not very much food though

An Asian inspired wedding would be very fun. Traditionally, red is the primary color for this as the asian culture believes red to be good luck. You could also do a cherry blossom theme wedding. You could do green, light pinks and brown to make it work. There are countless sites that can help you plan to do something like this. Just search Asian themed weddings.

Hope this helps!|||that would be cool!! i think you could definetely have chinese food too. for those of your guests that are picky, they can have the little fried chicken pieces or plain rice and gravy, or even just vegetable. i think having a buffet would b ur best bet. and as far as decorations red and green and light pink and black and brown are usually asian colors... you could even visit the chinatown nearest you. even if u have to make a special trip it would b worth it, you can find some great deals on authentic chinese stuff. you could even give chinese candy and fortune cookies for your "gift" for the guests. (one candy i like is called white rabbit, its kind of like a white tootsie roll. but not chocolately tasting.)|||Any ethnic theme seems condscending to me - They seem sort of "manufactured" - JMHO|||Oceanie, that's a funny word :) I think having a few Chinese themed things is fine, but not the food. You can't count on all your guests being into ethnic food. That's why at most weddings there's a beef or chicken meal choice, and then maybe fish, or pasta for any vegetarians. The food is pretty straightforward so it suits most palates.

Maybe instead of the paper lanterns with tassels you can use paper globes, they sell them online with lights inside and they look awesome hanging up at the reception. I was going to use them at my wedding because I saw a lot of pics of other weddings there that had them, but the ceiling was too high for us to hang them. There's also a lot of places online where you can download english subbed versions of the anime in Japanese (which is usually better) for free. A good thing to do is to look for anime and manga that incorperates things that you like. If you like lots of battles, watch Bleach or Naruto. If you like love stories watch DN Angel, if you like both, Full Metal Alchemist.

Anyways, I hope that helps.|||just learn the language and stay away from anime! that stuff is wierd!|||dont get into it... its adictve.. you are gonna spend all your money and you are not gonna have friends... dont try|||Tired of searching for anime? www.AnimeThat.com|||You can start by watching the sci-fi channel on Monday night. Check your tv listings, because its called animonday. That varies in different time due to time zones. I recommend watching one of the best animes ever made, Street fighter 2 the animated movie. Be sure to stay away from the Jean claude van dam American version or there cartoons. It must be Manga.|||if you want an anime which will make you addictive to anime shows, then watch Death Note, you'll become addictive, and you'll learn some Japanese words like me, lol.. :)|||Well first if you have a friend who likes Anime/Manga then i suggest ask her/him to borrow or recommend things.

For Manga books I recommend Vampire Knight, I.N.V.U,Alice 19th, and Fruits Basket. (Oh there are soo many). You can also go to a bookstore (Boarders is my favorite) and pick up a manga and read it there.

Some shows Inuyasha,Fruits Basket,Death Note, and Full Metal Alchemist.(once again i can name more)|||The ones I first saw are still my favorites. I tend to try and watch the anime movies more than the series since watching a series will make you want to have all the episodes and they often have 20 + and you have to pay for each sepearately or sometimes several episodes are on 1 tape or DVD but it's still expensive. Some are short like Project A-k 1-3. I heard there was a spin off or alternate universe OVAs of it or something but I haven't seen it yet. Devil Hunter Yoko, Genocyber, Iczer 1, Battle Angel, The Guyver, Mermaids Scar, Blood Reign, Akira, Wicked City (there's also a live action movie, but it's not as good as the anime imo) Poltergeist Report, Doomed Megalopolis, Vampire Princess Miyu, The Outsiders, Crying Freeman, Vampire Hunter D, 3x3 eyes, Demon City, Mermaid Scroll, The Slayers, Ninja Scroll, Record of Lodos War, Cowboy Beebop, Oger Slayer, Armitage, Pet Shop of Horrors, Ghost in the Shell, Angel Cop ... hmmm i'll have to think some more. :) but try www.rightstuf.com, a VERY good site. It has manga and anime movies, complete series, memorabilia, soundtracks etc.|||Be very sure if you want to get into anime, if you really got into it, it will be very hard to get out of it.

But if u r serious, just think of what kind of stories you normally like then from there you can narrow down to the genre of anime that you might like. Try searching the interent for explainations on the different genre available. U'll probably get a list of anime then u can just try watching them online (try in youtube or ITKWTF.com) if its a bother to download.

Or you can just try watching any anime that is shown on T. Check out if anyone is to ur liking and go from there to find other animes.

I seriously believe that there is a anime for everyone. Hope you'll find the anime for you. Gud Luck! :)|||Anime/manga is something that you have to naturally love. Just watch some of the more popular animes and read some of the more popular mangas. If you fall in love with them, explore different anime/manga series. It's the funnest thing ever. If you do not like it, don't bother tryinng to get into it.

No resturaunts, no pizza delievery, no chinese take out. We have been eating out every night for the last week and a half because of the heat. Now I need to make something without heating up my house! No sandwiches either.... Please any ideas on a good supper without heating up the house.. Sorry. ak|||I was going to suggest gazpacho and a cold bean salad, but then I noticed that you have kids, so that might not be such a big hit.

How about this idea: have a dip dinner. Make sure everything you have can be dipped. cut up raw veggies with salad dressings, apples with peanut butter, bread/pitas with hummus, peanut butter, or whatever your kids will like, salami rolled around a pickle that they can dip in mustard, pretzels dipped in cream cheese, whatever. My mom used to do this when I was a kid, and I loved dipping food. You can make it even more fun by letting your kids mix their own dips for things from whatever you have around the house.

I hope you cool off soon!|||Mom, my Mom would make salads in the summertime. Fruit salad, tuna salad, crab salad and macaroni salad. Oh and potato salad.

No cooking required!|||Have someone BBQ, which would happen outside of course. Or make a chef salad. Get some turkey, ham, hard-boiled eggs and cut them all up into a bowl of lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, croutons and your favorite dressing. Grab some french bread and put some butter on it, and you have a filling meal. The meat in the salad fills you up and there's no cooking involved. We don't have AC, only a swamp cooler. When the temp gets over 100, like it has been lately, the swamp cooler is almost useless, so I can't even think about cooking or it'll be 10x's worse. We usually make a chef salad....other nights we make sub sandwiches like they have at Subway.

Oh and if you can boil pasta late at night when it's cooled down, or early morning before it's too hot, do so. Get some rotini pasta noodles, cook them and put them in the fridge for later. Then when you're ready, get some Kilbasa sausage or something similar (brown that in the morning too), frozen broccoli (thawed in the microwave), sliced olives, and some thinly sliced red bell peppers. Mix it all up at night when you're ready for dinner, put your favorite dressing (usually a lite italian is good) and you'll have pasta salad w/out heating up your house.|||Boy do I know the feeling. I also stock up on Chunky Style Soups, and heat them in the mirowave. There are a ton of varieties to choose from.

Try cooking the meals in the mornings and fix everyone's plates, wrap in plastic wrap and store in the fridge or freezer. At mealtime, heat the plates and unwrap and serve. You get a home cooked meal and don't suffer the evening heat.

sweet and sour chicken with the red sauce on it, and pork fried rice. In TOTAL 1 cup. I only had about 1 cup of food not one cup each. There is no label its chinese take out! Also its not a chicken breast its pieces with bread coating.|||With that sort of food it is very difficult to say how many calories are in it. But it is safe to say that it is usually many more calories than we think. What makes take out food so tasty is all the fat and rich sauces. So lets say a serving of chicken and a serving of pork and a serving of rice which would total about 350 calories and add on calories for the sauce so maybe 450 calories. That's about what I would guess.

Being a vegan must really suck!|||Lots of ranch dressing|||Buy some v-8 juice very tasty that's my advice, junk food is ok just in moderation, gotta live a little|||Make stir-fries for yourself; done properly they're healthy.
The secret is in the technique, not any specific recipe.
Cook the rice separately, heat 1 cup in 2 tbsp oil first.
Add to 2 cups of boiling water, cover & reduce heat.
Simmer for 45 minutes until water is all absorbed.
Slice boneless chicken breast or thighs,
or slice pork chops or beef steaks in strips.
    Brown & set aside.
Add vegetables to hot pan in order of cooking time:
Carrots, water chestnuts, broccoli, bok-choy, celery,
onions, garlic, peppers, bean sprouts, etc.
Leave about 2 minutes between each addition.
    Return meat.
Finish with 2 tbsp cornstarch with 1/2 cup water.
Whisk together with some soy sauce to darken.
Add to vegetables to thicken & form gravy.
Serve over steamed rice|||Don't beat yourself up, and don't try to make it an all or nothing proposition to start with. If you want take out, have it-but enjoy it in moderation, AND throw in a glass of homemade juice somewhere throughout the day. By combining the two to start with, you will feel less deprived. Once you reframe the way you think about it, and start noticing some benefits from that lovely juice, you are likely to start WANTING to make changes. If you convince yourself that the junk food is good, and the good stuff is not, thats exactly how you will continue to think about it. If you take the time to ENJOY a glass of homemade juice-even the act of juicing it, washing the veggies, etc., then your thoughts may very well change. Its all in the approach. Good luck.|||Buy some broccoli, baby corn, stir fry sauce, and udon noodles. Sautee the carrots and broccoli until tender, then add the corn, sauce, and spinach. Meanwhile, boil the noodles. When the noodles are done, add them to the mixture and stir enough to coat them. Now you have delicious oriental food that's healthy instead of junky.

We have a container of rice from the chinese take out last night. Can I make rice pudding out of this?|||Here's a quick, simple recipe for you. Warm rice pudding is so yummy.
2 1/2 cups (600 ml) of whole milk
1/3 cup (66 grams) of long or short grain white rice
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    1 egg
1/4 cup (50 grams) dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
    1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
    1/3 cup (40 grams) raisins

1 In a medium heavy bottomed saucepan, combine milk, rice and salt and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer until the rice is tender, about 20 minutes. Stir frequently to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

2 In a small mixing bowl, whisk together egg and brown sugar until well mixed. Add a half cup of the rice mixture - a Tablespoon at a time - beating to incorporate.

3 Add egg mixture back into the saucepan of rice and milk and stir, on low heat, for 10 minutes or so, until thickened. Be careful not to have the mixture come to a boil at this point. Stir in the vanilla. Remove from heat and stir in the raisins.

    Serve warm or cold.

    Serves 2-3.

This rice pudding comes from the author's Cuban friend who uses starchy, short-grain Valencia-style rice to achieve a creaminess reminiscent of risotto. Valencia-style rice can be found at most supermarkets; you can also use a short-grain rice like Arborio or Japanese white rice.

    3 cups water
1 cup short-grain rice (such as Arborio)
    4 whole cloves
1 (2-inch) piece vanilla bean, split lengthwise
    1 (2-inch) cinnamon stick
    1 (14-ounce) can fat-free sweetened condensed milk
    1/2 cup evaporated fat-free milk
    1/2 cup light coconut milk
    1/2 cup golden raisins
    1 tablespoon chopped crystallized ginger
    1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
    Pinch of salt
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Place water and rice in a large saucepan. Place cloves, vanilla, and cinnamon on a double layer of cheesecloth. Gather edges of cheesecloth together; tie securely. Add to rice mixture. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat to low; cook 20 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is almost absorbed.

Stir in milks and raisins; cook 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in ginger, rind, and salt; cook 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove cheesecloth with spices. Pour rice mixture into a bowl or individual bowls; cover surface of pudding with plastic wrap. Chill. Sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired.

Yield: 8 servings (serving size: 1/2 cup)|||Leftover Rice Rice Pudding

2 cups leftover cooked white rice
    3 cups milk (any kind)*
    1/2 cup sugar
    small pinch salt
    1/2 cup raisins
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, optional
    pinch nutmeg, optional

Combine cooked rice, milk, sugar and salt in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat to a simmer and stir in the vanilla and raisins. Cook until just about all of the milk is absorbed (30-45 minutes, depending on how absorbent your rice is). Stir in cinnamon and/or nutmeg, if using.
Divide rice pudding into individual serving dishes serve warm or chilled.
    Makes 4-6 servings.

*Note: Sometimes I add an extra 1/2 cup of milk, if the rice seems unusually firm or dry, to make it creamier. Feel free to add a bit extra if the pudding is not as creamy as you like it. You can use nonfat, lowfat, whole or soy milk in this recipe.

can someone please tell me what the difference is in the types of chinese foods? i hear of cantonese, sechwan(sp) and others. i'm guessing it has to do with the region in which they originated but what is it that makes them different? how do the flavors differ and which is the kind one typically finds in chinese take out?|||Beijing Food (Northern Chinese)
Beijing food is the most famous food in China. .
The northern part of China has a very cold climate. The region is unable to grow rice, and therefore wheat is the food base. Northern Chinese eat more breads than their compatriots in the south, where rice predominates.

Perhaps the most famous northern dish is Beijing Duck. Mongolian hot-pots and sweet-and-sour dishes from the Henan province are also popular.

    Cantonese Food
Cantonese food is typically steamed, boiled or stir-fried. It is a very healthy food, since it uses a minimum of oil. The main ingredients of this type of Chinese food are seafood, pork, chicken and vegetables. Dim Sum and Fried Rice are also characteristic.
There are no limits to what you may find in your bowl. As one Chinese proverb goes: "Cantonese eat every thing that flies except planes, every thing on the ground except cars, and every thing that is in water except boats."

    Sichuan Food
What is typical of this southwestern province of China is the spicy taste of its food. If you want to eat "la," as people say in Chinese, try the Sichuan pepper beef. Many Sichuan dishes are prepared using chili pepper oil, which gives a special taste to the food.
The most famous Sichuan dish is the Gongbao (Kung Pao) chicken, fried with peanuts and chili pepper.

    Huaiyang Food
Huaiyang food is probably the most popular Chinese food in North America, with its steam cooking. Soups are also a very important element. Huaiyang is the home of "red cooking," a method of cooking food in a marinade made of soya sauce, water, sugar, ginger and white wine.
Noodles come from the Yangzi river region. The southern city of Nanjing is famous for its duck dishes. Shanghai has its own specialties, including stir-fried dishes|||it's "regionated." just go for plain old chinese food and not the kind that has a special region attached to it. it's the besty!|||The different types reflect the area where they come from>Sezchuan tends to be spicier than cantonese. In all honesty though most chinese food is cooked to suit American taste. Also MSG is often added to Chinese food. I tis a flavor enhancer and it makes you thirsty.

I want to order chinese take out can anyone tell me what
Sa Cha beef|||Sha cha beef (Chinese: 娌欒尪鐗涜倝; also called sa cha beef, cha beef, or cha beefsteak) is the name of a Chinese dish featuring shacha sauce and tenderized beef strips. The Americanized dish is usually served over a bed of white rice with fresh scallions and cilantro (coriander). This is the native dish to the Gansu province of China. This dish is rare in that it is one of few Chinese-American dishes to maintain the principle of fan-ts'ai. The basis of this principle is the division between fan, grains and other starch foods, and ts'ai, vegetable and meat dishes. To prepare a balanced meal, it must have an appropriate amount of both fan and ts'ai, and ingredients are readied along both tracks. Sha cha beef is not only a superb example of fan-ts'ai, but a traditional dish dating back thousands of generations.

Schabeefsteak is the commonly used term in the kitchens of asian restaurants in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. This is the colloquial form of the word. Also used as an expression of agreement or as a greeting.

Shacha sauce (also spelled sa cha sauce) or paste is a Chinese condiment primarily used in Fujian, Chiuchow, and Taiwanese cuisines. It is made from soybean oil, garlic, shallots, chilis, brill fish, and dried shrimp. It has a savory and slightly spicy taste.

    The ingredient has multiple uses:

    as a base for soups
as a rub for barbecued meats
as a seasoning for stir fry dishes
as a component for dipping sauces, for example as used in hot pot meals |||Are you sure it's not "Szechuan?" That means it's spicy. It's strips of beef, stir-fried with vegetables and noodles.|||Cha just means Fried or Fry. Sa? I'm not sure...what's that? I'm quite sure there's spelling error on the menu....

  • Yesterday I ordered Chinese Take out and I had no clue how much to tip the delivery guy! Is it the same as if you were at a Restaurant? I order about 40$ worth of food, and tipped the guy 5$. Was that too much? Or Too little? Thanks.|||It doesn't really matter how much you order. I mean, the guy is going to drive to your house whether you order one thing or fifty things.

I always tip $3 - $5 depending on their punctuality (if they specified how long it should take, then how well did they stick to that?) and their politeness when they deliver my food.|||seems like a generous amount, i wouldn't do anymore than that, but usually a couple bucks should suffice|||I usually tip like $3-5 depending on how much I order|||I think that seems about right. I always tip $3.00 even on small packages, if they have to carry a lot of things I'll tip $5.00.|||wow , can i deliver chinese take out to your home? I think you over payed a bit but it was a nice gesture since they are very poor people and need the money. If the person was polite and got the food there on time then i guess it was worth it. I say ok hang on a second and they give me this huge sigh, like i am putting them out . I have also had some delivery people that come to the door and have their boyfriends or girlfriends in the vehicle waiting on them so they are in a hurry and i just write out my check as slowly as i can just to wart them. That is rude on both of their parts . I usually give them 2$ and that is about all i can afford , the price of pizzas are way overpriced anyway.|||well i would just give him the normal - 15%. so on a 40 dollar meal it would be 6 dollars. my friend used to just double the tax. maybe it is different with delivery people; maybe you give them less?|||you did right|||15% for normal service, more during rain, snow or other poor weather.

Maybe mexican, in and out, or some chinese take out.|||There is a saying that I loosely remember: "Let us eat and drink, as tomorrow we surely die".
This is natural human reaction, and I have nothing against a good meal, while we can afford one.
But we would still need to understand why we got into the crisis in the first place.
And if we do understand the main reasons we will see, that it is us who has to solve it. The times when people left everything to a king, queen, general, politicians, any great leader or even a God like figure and those figures worked out a solution for everybody, those times are gone.
We are all interconnected, together like one big family.

  • my sister brought chinese take out and i dont think im gonna finish it all tonight..how do you reheat it to make it taste the same..will it work on the microwave??if not how would you reheat it using the oven or frying pan|||Reheating Fried Rice & Chicken:

    InstructionsThings You'll Need:
    Left over fried rice
    A microwaveable bowl
    A paper towel
    Water
Step 1Put your leftover fried rice in a microwaveable container.

Step 2Get a paper towel, wet it, and then squeeze most of the moisture back out. You want the paper towel to be a little more than damp, but not dripping.

Step 3Spread the paper towel back out and place it over your bowl of leftover fried rice.

Step 4Microwave the fried rice for between 2-3 minutes depending on the temperature and heating ability of your microwave and the portion size of fried rice. I tend to err on the longer side. If you have a very large amount of fried rice -- over two cups -- you may need to extend the cooking time to 4-5 minutes.

Step 5Let the rice stand for 2-3 minutes after it's done cooking. The paper towel will have steamed the rice and both the paper towel and the bowl of fried rice will be VERY HOT.

Step 6After the rice has sat for 1-2 minutes, carefully remove the paper towel and throw it away. Use an over mitt if necessary. After that, you're free to enjoy a great tasting bowl of reheated fried rice!|||It will work in the microwave, and fried rice is probably easier to heat in the microwave. Just put the food in for a minute at a time, stirring in between each interval. Once it starts to get warm you can start putting it in for 30 seconds at a time, still stirring in between.

However, I prefer to heat up chicken or mixed veggies on the stove. It gets much more evenly heated that way, I think!

It's really easy. Just put it in a pot so that it spreads out well, the chicken shouldn't go higher than 2 or 3 inches. Add a little bit of water (maybe about 1/4 cup, or a little less for an average sized serving). The water amount doesn't have to be exact; I usually turn the faucet on high for about a second and call it good. The water is just to help heat up the chicken and keep it from sticking to the pan, and also to add back any water into the sauce that might have evaporated overnight.

Turn the stove on medium to medium high heat and keep an eye on it... stir every once in a while so it doesn't stick to the bottom. It will start to sizzle. After a little while, take out a thick piece of chicken, cut it in half and feel the middle, just to make sure it's all the way warmed up.

Then transfer to a plate, and enjoy!

Edit: Forgot to add, make sure you don't put any metal in the microwave (don't use the takeout container if it has metal handles!) and make sure you use a dish that is microwave safe.|||Pour it into a bowl or onto a dish

I was at a Chinese take out that makes fries, wings, eggrolls and all that,
put a heap of clams in the deep fryer.|||Sure... restaurants can use the same fryer for any type of food. There is no health code rule for using the same fryer for potatoes and meat. This is because fryers are generally set at about 350 F., which is hot enough to kill any bacteria associated with raw chicken, seafood or any type of meat.

However, if you happened to be vegan and asked the restaurant manager about this, and the manager lied to you, it would be an ethical issue.

Restaurants, just like food companies that sell packaged food in grocery stores, have to follow "truth in advertising" laws. If a restaurant manager lied to you about this type of thing, you could probably file a lawsuit.|||There is nothing wrong with the fact that most restaurants are not equipped with 8-10 fryers to cook all the different foods available. I am happy that Rab takes the time to dump his oil and clean the fryer before each order is prepared. If you have allergies or specific diet requirements and the restaurant does not take that into consideration then shame on them. Celiacs are the very common now and all we do is stove top fry a menu item and we would do the same thing for any other individual that requires special attention. As for Rab I would make him something with special sauce. You do not have to be a jerk! We are in the food service business not food servant!|||Well, 350 degrees....is NOT hot enough to kill all....Here is why I know....My husband is severely allergic to FISH and SEAFOOD....we have ordered fries for him at a Fast Food Restaurant that used the same fryer for Fish....He only had 4-5 french fries and had a bad allergic reaction. I called the the Fast Food place and let them know what had happened, and they were honest with me and told me yes they did use the same oil for the fish and the fries, eggrolls etc. We learned a valuable lesson. Now we let the waitresses know about his allergy as we order, to be sure they are aware of any cross contamination, as I can order seafood out as I have no allergy to it.
I was told restaurants did have to have a separate fryer for fish and seafood, for just that reason. I could have gotten bad information, but that was the only time this happened to him in many many years.|||Hi,///// This is not good practice, not because it is a health problem to start with although it could become one. It is because whoever cooks like that is lazy and has no respect for the customer or themselves for that matter because the can hardly call themselves a cook. Mixing so many different things in the oil will taint it and shorten the life of it. I would never eat there again - but I would tell them why first -preferably in front of other customers when they were busy. if they ever do get busy that is!
all the best. Rab|||As the others have said, sure they can. It does taint the oil, as one answerer said. My grandpa owned a restaurant for years and had one fryer for fish, one for chicken, one for beef, and one for non-meat products. May seem excessive to have that many fryers, but everyone swore the foods there tasted better.

Add the rest of the sauce ingredients. Bring them to a boil and add the cornstarch to thicken the sauce lightly. Turn off the heat. My boyfriend and I have recently began eating Chinese take out very often (maybe 1 or 2 times a week to every other week), and I'm starting to wonder if its too much, and if it is unhealthy for you, like eating McDonald's all the time? Anyone have an idea??|||Most of Chinese food, especially in the USA, is full of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) which is very unhealthy and over 30% of the population has allergic reactions to it to one degree or another.

MSG has also been linked to Alzheimer's. Not that it causes it but can be a trigger to set it off if you have it in your family history.

go to a search engine and bring up information on MSG and you will never go near the stuff again.|||It could be.|||Yes. Some of it is even worse. It is not even real Chinese food. It's basically fast food.|||yes, it is. I thought it was a healthier alternative to basic fast food myself, till I watched a report stating that it has way too much sodium (salt) in it. It suggested breaking the meal up into two meals...one today and one tomorrow.|||seems like it.. i was actually wondering the same thing like the other day.. it tastes so good and its made fairly quick & easy, i dont think it can be too healthy for you|||Personally, I think Chinese takeout TASTES very much better than Occidental fast food, and it does usually have more vegetables, but it also has just as much fat and usually way, way more sodium. The secret to healthy eating is not precisely WHAT you eat but HOW MUCH you eat and exercise. Oriental cuisine can easily be part of a balanced diet and workout program, just as McDonald's and Burger King can be part of a healthy lifestyle.|||Chinese food are healthy and real food . I working at the chinese restaurant, you use fresh vegetables, meat and vegetable oil. even though all the meat , they trimmed all the fat. you can not compare as McDonald's. but i recomend order from restaurant , they are more fresh than fast food.|||It is generally healthier than eating fast food, unless you are sticking with things like Chicken Soo Guy, general Tao's chicken, Sweet and Sour anything or other highly processed foods . Outside of these dishes, the biggest problem is an overabundance of sodium, which is contributory to hypertension( high blood pressure)
If you are mostly going for simple chow mein, fried rice and chop suey dishes and dishes with lots of vegetables, you'll do fine eating chinese a couple of times each week. The next biggest problem will come from the large amounts of MSG often used in North American chinese style dishes. some people actually react to the large aounts of MSG, and this is actually documented as 'chinese restaurant syndrome'.
So, eat the simple dishes , with lots of vegetable, rather than the breaded and battered dishes and don't use too much soy sauce( very high in salt content) and you'll be better off than if you were eating burgers and fries on a regular basis, provided you don't have hypertension problems or a reaction to MSG|||Depends on how it is cooked and what you are eating. If you are eating mostly vegetables and white rice, you aren't doing too bad although brown rice would be better for you. You can reduce the fat by asking for your food to be cooked in broth and not fat. You are however eating a huge amount of sodium and probably MSG. Asian food is easy to cook at home, why not check out recipes online and start cooking real food for yourself? You'll have more control and feel better about what you are putting in your body. Here's a question for you, how many Asian people do you see eating at most "chinese" fast food places. They won't eat the stuff either.|||Yes ! Most of it is fried & the sodium levels are through the roof !|||it's probably very close. but not all chinese food is as bad as mcdonalds or other fast food places. if you get just rice or brocolli and rice or something of that sort, then it's going to be rather healthy.|||Yes. Both are made of crabby genitals.|||Much Much better for you|||I THINK THAT IT IS THE SAME AS EATING FAST FOOD.|||It is bad,but does not have as much greese as fast food. Also when you eat the rice you are still getting grains and vegetables so its not that bad.|||no offense to the chinse people but have u seen how skinny they are u dont think they eat that stuff everyday in china and usally wenever i eat one plate i notice they serve u more vegtables then meat or chicken or watever so i think chinese food is actually off course im not a nutrsionist lol|||You will probably get more vegetables, but all that sodium and the amount of sauce used in many of the dishes is not good for you. It depends on what you eat from the restaurant and what you order from McDonalds. Neither is very healthy that is for sure. I still eat both though. You only live once right?|||really chinese food (not the fake Americanized) can be pretty good for you depending on what you are eating. but sometimes chinese food contains MSG, not so good for your body.|||Yes, it is.|||I think is as bad, but chinese food have a larger variety of things in there. fast food is oil, meat, bread, and potatoe

but chinese food had lotta veggies, celery cabbage.. etc
but both are still greasy|||chinese food IS fast food|||if you eat it too much..

Im thinking your cooking will be PERFECTO!|||i taught myself how to cook chinese when i had to move to NC and realized all their chinese food sucked (i'm from CA). chinese food is actually really easy to cook. it's the prep that is time consuming. lots of cutting, but very quick cooking.

I think I am paranoid but I get so scared to eat pork since I know someone that got the worm on her brain. I see pork baby back ribs, pork chinese take out food, or mexican carnitas and I don't know if I should trust them or not. I know the meat has to be a certain temperature but how can one know if it was cooked that well? I love pork but I am just too scared. I never cook pork myself so basically all I want to know is about restaurant pork. Thanks so much.|||Are you sure it was from pork? Trychinosis has been virtually eliminated as a threat in the US and it doesn't go into the brain.|||points|||What worm on the brain are you talking about?

Trichinosis, which used to be gotten from pork is a parasite that resides in your muscles, not your brain. You have almost no chance of getting trichinosis from USDA inspected pork even if it is cooked rare.|||If you are talking about the worm that causes trichinosis, that is really not a cause for concern any longer. The few cases in the United States are mostly the result of eating undercooked game or home reared pigs. It is most common in the developing world and where pigs are commonly fed raw garbage. So, if you are buying your pork from a grocery store or butcher's shop you are pretty sure that the meat will not have the worm: today's pigs are not fed raw garbage but pig feed.

Regardless of which meat you are cooking, you should have an instant read meat thermometer. Then all you do is cook at the temperature suggested for the time suggested, then stick what you've cooked with the thermometer to read what the internal temperature is.|||Just make sure you cook any meat thoughly.|||What the PORK are you talkin' about?

Shut up and eat!|||I don't know about anything in pork that causes a worm , but my husband is a G.M. at a Bar-B-Q restaurant and pork is safe to eat when it has reached 165 F for at least 15 minutes.|||I was scared about it too, when I was a kid I heard about it.
You have to cook pork meat very well.
To make sure it麓s really cooked you have to cut it and check inside
Temperature is the most important to kill it
We like to eat pork in many ways and my mother always make sure that it麓s very well cooked. In my country there are many traditional foods made with pork meat, my grand mother used to cook them for us some weekends and the whole family used to eat together. So we have been cooking it for a long time and nobody is sick.

We never let us to forget that it may be delicious but it is pork meat and you have to cook it properly.

Don麓t be scared. Any kind of food can be dangerous if it isn麓t properly cooked or storaged.
But if you are still worried, read about it, I think here in Mexico I have seen some books about parasites while my sister was studying medicine, and I bet you will find some in your city.

People may tell you that it doesn麓t exist, but it does exist, you will find real information in medicine books or specialized books.
I read one of the answers about how long and at what temperature you have to cook pork, I think that麓s a good advice.|||it is ok... my diet cant be without pork, and didnt get any worm

I'm looking for a good Chinese beef and broccoli stir fry recipe (The way they make it for Chinese take out.) Every time my mom makes it the broccoli gets soggy and is not firm like the broccoli from the restaurants. Also, the beef doesn't taste the same (nor do we know how to make the sauce.) Can anyone give me the recipe for Chinese beef and broccoli stir fry takeout/restaurant style? Please and thank you!|||The beef is usually cooked twice. A mixture of cornstarch and egg white is made and the beef is placed in the cornstarch mixture then fried. The beef is removed and set aside. Stir fry your veggies, quickly and in a hot wok or skillet with hot oil. Place in the items needing the longer cook time first then the rest of the items. Including the beef.
Sauce I have 2 recipes for you to try.
    #1
    1 Tb dark soy sauce
    1 Tb light soy sauce
    1 Tb oyster sauce
    1 Tb dry sherry
    1/2 tsp pepper
    1/2 tsp sugar
If you want the sauce thick add a bit of cornstarch and if you do that add a bit of water as well. About 1 tsp cornstarch and 1/4 to 1/2 cup water

    Beef and Broccoli recipe
    2 Tb peanut oil
1/2 pound broccoli par boiled, thinly sliced
1 Clove garlic peeled and crushed
1 thin slice ginger-root or 1/8 tsp ginger
1 tomato seeded and cut into 6 wedges
1/2 - 3/4 pound flank steak cut across grain into slices 1/8 inch thick
Heat oil in large skillet or wok add broccoli garlic and ginger, stir fry 2 minutes add tomato and stir fry 1 minute. Reduce heat and push vegetables to the side, or remove from pan if you don't have room, add beef and stir fry 1 minute, sprinkle in sherry. Mix remaining ingredients sprinkle over beef and fry 1/2 minute.

This recipe does not say to twice cook the beef but I like the texture of the meat when it is coated in the cornstarch mixture. ( both are good.)

Keep in mind the you will most likely never be able to accomplish at home what is done in a Chinese restaurant as you stove will never be able to put out the heat that the stoves at a Chinese restaurant can.|||Well using Fresh Broccoli is the key...And not to over cook it. I would Add the broccoli last. Also the sauce can be found at any grocery store in a packet or use this recipe which is Incredible.

http://www.jasonandshawnda.com/foodiebri鈥?/a>|||Add the Broccoli right at the end, and make sure the oil is very hot. It only needs about a minute to a minute and a half. Be sure to use the spatula all the time.|||If the broccoli is soggy, it was over cooked. The recipe for the brown sauce is found online. We have some rice leftover from Chinese take-out, but you know it's gotten kinda tough. It's still edible, but not that appealing.|||This works for all types of rice:

Add 1-2 tablespoons of water (preferably hot) to the container (if microwaveable). Cover, making sure you leave a small vent for steam to escape, and microwave for 3-5 minutes. Let the rice rest for like 30 seconds as the rice will be reaaaaalllllyyyy hot. I'm new to the area and would love some suggestions for Chinese take out places! My favorites in Chinese food are pork dumplings (gyoza) and chicken lo mein, so if you know of any places in my area that have perfected these basics, I'd greatly appreciate the help. :)|||The only Chinese place I know in Studio City is Chin Chin. They have great dumplings. You can also try Little Buhda on Cahuena, near Universal City.

I went to a Chinese restaurant not sure what to order and the guy didn't speak English so I left with a menu and here is the question
    What is the difference between
    Chow mein
    Low mein
    chop Suey

and what do you ususally order from a Chinese take out?|||OK this is what I think not what I know...And it's going by what my chinese resturaunt serves.
    chow mein is crunchy noodles
low mein is cooked soft noodles (kinda like spaghetti)
Chop suey is just meat and veggies chopped up and cooked together

I order sweet and sour chicken with the sauce on the side. Fried rice, low mein noodles, and an egg roll. Sometimes I will get egg drop soup but if I eat that I can't eat my chicken :)
    Hope it helps.

i want to have it off by june next summer. i already lost 20 pounds but the weight loss slowed down.

my plan is to work out an hour 4-5 times a week, and eat 1000-1500 calories a day. i know i will cheat every once in awhile and eat chinese take out but i mean about how many months you think it will take?|||Losing that amount of weight in ten months is a very attainable goal. That leaves you plenty of time to take it off in a healthy way (1-2 pounds a week) and to be very active, so that you'll be toned once you've reached your goal.

How smart you are to start this early and not wait until the last minute...Good luck!

    |||Probably 5 to 6 months. I lost 30 pounds in about 3 months just watching what I ate and working out 4 to 5 times a week but it slows down the less weight you have to lose. Stick with it and don't get discouraged if it doesn't come off as quickly as you like. Eventually you will get there if you work at it. The main thing is that you will feel so much better. |||Well, to lose weight in a healthy way, you should be losing about 1-2 pounds a week. So in one month, at the most, you could lose about 10lbs. That way, I think it would take about 4 -5months. It's okay to cheat sometimes! We all need a little break :)

Good luck!|||if you stick to your plan, you are going to have the extra 20 off by next summer- that i am sure of.

Recently moved to Milpitas, and am looking for a good Chinese take-out restaurant in the area where I can order in English. Hoping to find someplace which serves good, "American" chinese food like sweet and sour pork and salt and pepper pork chops.|||Grand Palace (1628 Hostetter Rd Ste F San Jose, CA 95131) has really good chinese food, and it's closer to real chinese food than a lot of places IMO. I can't quite remember if the english translations on the menu are accurate or not, but you can definitely order in english. they have sweet and sour pork (it's a real chinese dish, not "american" chinese only!) as well.

if you prefer something closer to american chinese food (i am of this opinion because the sweet and sour pork there is more ketchup-y than the authentic chinese ones), try mayflower at the great mall, milpitas.

happy feasting!|||happy hunting have chop sticks will travel...................

    I'm hungry, really hungry.
Only two options I have are a cheeseburger and fries from a diner, or chicken and broccolli with white rice from a Chinese take out place. The Chinese food has a lot of sauce and I know it' filled with MSG and sodium.
I'm really looking for the one with less cholesterol and fat, calories too but it's not that serious.

Which one?|||It depends on the burger, but I think cheeseburger and fries are definitely more fattening. If you opt for the chinese food, you can minimize your fat intake by not drenching your rice in sauce. As one person suggested, you can ask for brown rice. Not all chinese food is fattening. It all depends on the dish. The broccoli in the chinese food will at least offer you vegetables, whereas a burger and fries gives you lettuce and tomatoes at most. That's not even a serving of vegetables. If you do go for chinese food, you can look for healthy options and avoid dishes that have the meat fried (i.e. sweet and sour pork, etc). Hope you found something that works for you. Enjoy.|||I would first have to say where each one is made and what oils they are made with.
For example some cheeseburgers are baked. And Chinese food is almost always fried if it is fast-food. So depending how and what the meal is made should tell you, which is more fattening.
Sorry I know I didn't give a direct answer, but if you want one here it is:
Go with the cheeseburger and order it without the buns, and get fries with natural sea salt.
Go with the Chinese and you should order the platter with the most vegetables to balance out any MSG if there is any.|||You need to provide more info such as portion sizes of each as both are fattening. For a less fattening option, choose the Chinese food with brown rice instead of white, nix the sauce and if applicable, remove the skin from the chicken and have extra broccoli..|||Chinese food isn't fattening... It's almost like eating air. You need a lot of it to get fat XD Why do you think people in Asia are so fit? Their food isn't fattening... It's GOOD for you.|||Chinese is your better option, but it depends if the chicken in the Chinese is deep fried. that will add a lot of fat. sometimes you can ask them to not put MSG too.|||PROBABLY CHINESE FOOD, BUT YOU CAN ASK THE RESTAURANTS ABOUT LOW CALORIE BURGERS TOO.
