chinese take out
Friday, March 9, 2012
Ok so I had some chinese take out last night and I got this fortune cookie that said this and I want to know what comes to your mind when I say-
"Good things come to people who wait."|||I always took this to mean.
Things that come too easily are usually not that appreciated.
You have to be willing to put in the work to get to the good things, whether that is your dream job/education, house, car, partner.
L|||i'm a very patient person and i actually kind of live by that saying. Has it ever worked? well...sort of. When it says wait it can really mean WAIT like a long long time, like months or even years. But there are times when it works sooner than later =)|||You don't need a boyfriend just to have a boyfriend.
You have to kiss a lot of toads before you find your frog.
Someday my Prince will come.
Stuff like that.|||Just wait one hour and you'll be hungry again. You can eat more of their good Chinese food.|||If you wait and then the Universe will deliver good things to you. But remember that you must give good things also...|||Patience will always be rewarded.|||Standing in line for a great ride at a themepark.|||Have patience and good things are bound to happen :)|||Don't rush things in your life.|||be patient|||be patient with what you do

Give me a fish-sauce recipe.
I want a recipe for fish-sauce that i can make. I smelled the stuff, and it smells like fish-food (i side-by-side compared it to the "nutriplex beta food" which I feed my tiny fish whom i named donnie darko.
Also, please read my "recipe request" for fried-rice as made by "chinese take out stores".
Also, I am an Aries if that helps.
NOTE--ALL RECIPES ARE INCLUDED FOR MEDIUM-GRAIN RICE, BECAUSE I'M TRYING TO EXPLORE A NEW DIMENSION OF RICE.
Fish sauce, is the boss. Please make me think this way. Because my current paradigm is "fish sauce is not hot sauce".
Also read my other question about becoming a co-doctor.|||It's nice to see that you are incorporating so many questions in one posting, sure saves the points huh? Ok how about this:
THAI BARBEQUED CHICKEN
2 whole young chickens
4 stalks fresh lemon grass
1 tbsp. coarsely chopped fresh ginger
1 oz. garlic, finely chopped (about 6 lg. cloves)
4 shallots
1/2 c. coarsely chopped parsley roots
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. coconut milk
2 tbsp. fish sauce
2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. oil
Hot sticky rice
GARNISH:
Chinese parsley, cut into 2-inch lengths
Red chili peppers (optional)
Rinse chickens and pat dry. Split chickens down the breast, but do not cut all the way through; press open. Place chickens in a large bowl. In a food processor or blender combine lemon grass, ginger, garlic, shallots, parsley roots, brown sugar, coconut milk, fish sauce, soy sauce and oil; blend until smooth.
Pour sauce over chickens and marinate overnight in the refrigerator. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place chickens on a rack in an open pan with the split side down. Bake for about 1 hour, depending on the thickness of the chicken, or until the juices run clear when the thigh is pierced with a sharp knife. Serve with hot sticky rice. Garnish with Chinese parsley and red chili peppers. Makes 4-6 servings.
THAI CHINESE STYLE NOODLES
2 chicken breasts or equivalent of beef, cut into flat strips (use minute
or flank steaks)
1/2 stalk fresh broccoli, tops only
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 stalks celery, sliced
Onion and garlic, chopped to taste
Chinese cabbage, optional
1/4 c. oyster sauce
1-2 tbsp. fish sauce (very salty)

Fry broccoli, mushrooms and celery in vegetable oil until tender. Add onion and garlic, then strips of meat. Cook about 5 minutes on each side. Add sauces (fish, oyster, and soy) and about 1 tablespoon of water, cover and simmer while noodles cook. When noodles are done, add to mixture and serve.|||Dude, put the pipe down!|||actually hoisin sauce is a raisin sauce, a little spicy actually but good.( Ps I don't like raisins but i like the sauce.|||Vietnamese Beef Curry (Serves 4-6)

I eat out way too much, Burger King, KFC, Chinese take out, buffet...I guess I believe I am not much of a cook, however I am turning a new leaf.
Please tell me, do you have any cooking ideas that are not overly complex and is very reasonably priced (and taste good).
...thank you for your help in this matter.|||Umm.. I'm not sure if your wanting to cook healthy home cooked meals, or just homecooked meals?. But whatever it shall be.. Just expirement, you'll never know if you like something unless you try it. Some may turn out horrible, but some, so tasty! So thats why, you expirement in the kitchen. I cant really give you any recipies because I not sure what type of food you like, But you can visit these websites..|||A lot of the prepared freezer meals are tastey and well priced. Check out the freezer section at your grocery store - you can find lasagne, ravioli, panini sandwhiches, chinese, personal pizzas, mexican and more. They usually take less than 5 minutes to cook in the microwave and cost anywhere from $1 - $5 in the store.
Some more "home made" options might be spaghetti - boil some spaghetti noodles and top with a jar of pasta sauce or alfredo sauce and cheese. If you are feeling especially ambitious - add some meatballs (buy the premade bags of them from the grocery store).
My brother is a bachelor in the air force and swears that Hormel Chilli (canned) can top anything (noodles, chips, hotdogs - whatever) and he always keeps a bag of frozen tator tots on hand, too. Those you just put on a cookie sheet and bake according to the package.
Other simple and inexpensive meals might be pre-cooked bratworst (by Johnsonville) - pop in the microwave and put on a bun; frozen ravioli - found in the freezer section - just boil until they float and add in some frozen broccoli and a jar of alfredo sauce by Ragu. Grilled cheese is super easy, too. How about canned soup - progresso and cambells make some good ones; kraft easy mac, etc.
Consider picking up a quesadilla maker from target (under $20). Keep it on your counter and buy some tortillas - you can top quesadillas with absolutely anything - even peanut butter and jelly - and it takes only a couple of minutes to grab whatever you have in the fridge and throw it all together for an easy, cheap, filling snack or meal.
Hope this helps some.|||bEANS|||Mac and cheese, add hot dogs, veggie dogs are what I add.
Sloppy joes are easy
You can buy cheap canned spaghetti sauce and add your own meat if you need it, and that can go over noodles. Or my ex husband loved when I used that to make a meatloaf, also easy.
Alfredo sauce is real easy even though it doesn't seem like it would be.
Mashed taters are real easy as well.|||Smithfield, Hormel, Armour have packages of PRE-COOKED beef tips, roast, pot roast, pork roast, chicken, ham, meatload. Use this for your meat dish with a side dish or two of vegetables, rice, or potatoes. You will find these packages near the meat section, they are not frozen.
Tyson's fully cooked whole chickens are delicious. I serve them often with S&W canned sweet potatoes, Stove-Top dressing, microwave chicken/turkey gravy, a vegetable, cranberry sauce, and Pillsbury Microwave Biscuits which are better than I can make. A frozen pie defrosted and fully cooked. Perfect for one or two people at Thanksgiving or Christmas.

You can buy a roasted chicken or two at your supermarket's deli section. They also have all types of salads and vegetables already cooked.
Another thing you can do is cook in a slow cooker or a crock-pot. You put the meat meal into the crock-pot in the morning and it cooks all day long. The meal is ready at dinner time. Be sure to read the booklet that comes with the crock-pot. Here are some recipes for you:

My friend was visiting me recently. While she was visiting, my parents bought some Chinese take out and we all ate it at my grandmother's house. Later, she astonished me by asking for my parents and grandmother's address so she could send thank you cards to both.
I'm just wondering if anyone else does this. I would just say thank you in person and leave it at that.|||no a simple thank you for your hospitality will suffice the days of Victorian etiquette are long gone|||Let her know her goodie goodie-ness embarrass you - notwithstanding it was to please an older member of your own family. Then she can drop your tenuous "friendship." Report Abuse
|||That is charming and would greatly please your grand mother and parents.. It is rather sad, that you would be "astonished" at such a gesture of appreciation. Obviously your friend very much enjoyed dinner with your family, and wishes them to know it by giving more than a verbal thank you. Girls/women are less hesitant at showing regards.
i am addicted to tasty food(just went for Chinese take out) meanwhile i have raw spinach and carrots that i had planned to juice but have yet to do so...i hope i dont let my spinach rot they're organic Im just so addicted to the JUNK food...how can i make myself eat what i know i NEED to eat for health??|||you will.
