Things that come too easily are usually not that appreciated. You have to be willing to put in the work to get to the good things, whether that is your dream job/education, house, car, partner. L|||i'm a very patient person and i actually kind of live by that saying. Has it ever worked? well...sort of. When it says wait it can really mean WAIT like a long long time, like months or even years. But there are times when it works sooner than later =)|||You don't need a boyfriend just to have a boyfriend. You have to kiss a lot of toads before you find your frog. Someday my Prince will come. I had chinese take out and I must say it was pretty yummy.. Chow mien w/ rice and spicy garlic chicken!!|||went out to chilis and had chicken fried steak w/ country gravy, mashed potatoes and corn on the cob.|||cheese pizza and mozzarella sticks.|||i had rigatoni with italian sausage, right after the dentist lol|||I had tortelini, with bread and veggies!! My mom made it!! Give me a fish-sauce recipe. I want a recipe for fish-sauce that i can make. I smelled the stuff, and it smells like fish-food (i side-by-side compared it to the "nutriplex beta food" which I feed my tiny fish whom i named donnie darko. Ok how about this: THAI BARBEQUED CHICKEN 2 whole young chickens 4 stalks fresh lemon grass 1 tbsp. coarsely chopped fresh ginger 1 oz. garlic, finely chopped (about 6 lg. cloves) 4 shallots 1/2 c. coarsely chopped parsley roots 3 tbsp. brown sugar 1/2 c. coconut milk 2 tbsp. fish sauce 2 tbsp. soy sauce 2 tbsp. oil Hot sticky rice GARNISH: Chinese parsley, cut into 2-inch lengths Red chili peppers (optional) Rinse chickens and pat dry. Split chickens down the breast, but do not cut all the way through; press open. Place chickens in a large bowl. In a food processor or blender combine lemon grass, ginger, garlic, shallots, parsley roots, brown sugar, coconut milk, fish sauce, soy sauce and oil; blend until smooth. Pour sauce over chickens and marinate overnight in the refrigerator. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place chickens on a rack in an open pan with the split side down. Bake for about 1 hour, depending on the thickness of the chicken, or until the juices run clear when the thigh is pierced with a sharp knife. Serve with hot sticky rice. Garnish with Chinese parsley and red chili peppers. Makes 4-6 servings. THAI CHINESE STYLE NOODLES 2 chicken breasts or equivalent of beef, cut into flat strips (use minute or flank steaks) 1/2 stalk fresh broccoli, tops only 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced 2 stalks celery, sliced Onion and garlic, chopped to taste Chinese cabbage, optional 1/4 c. oyster sauce 1-2 tbsp. fish sauce (very salty) 2 tsp. soy sauce 1/2 lb. noodles Fry broccoli, mushrooms and celery in vegetable oil until tender. Add onion and garlic, then strips of meat. Cook about 5 minutes on each side. Add sauces (fish, oyster, and soy) and about 1 tablespoon of water, cover and simmer while noodles cook. Heat half the oil in a pan, add beef in batches, cook until browned all over then remove from pan. 3. Heat remaining oil in pan. Add onions and cook, stirring until onions are soft. Add water, paste, anise and beef to the pan, simmer, covered for 30 mins. Remove cover and simmer for a further 30 mins. 4. I eat out way too much, Burger King, KFC, Chinese take out, buffet...I guess I believe I am not much of a cook, however I am turning a new leaf. I'm not sure if your wanting to cook healthy home cooked meals, or just homecooked meals?. But whatever it shall be.. Just expirement, you'll never know if you like something unless you try it. Some may turn out horrible, but some, so tasty! So thats why, you expirement in the kitchen. I cant really give you any recipies because I not sure what type of food you like, But you can visit these websites..|||A lot of the prepared freezer meals are tastey and well priced. Check out the freezer section at your grocery store - you can find lasagne, ravioli, panini sandwhiches, chinese, personal pizzas, mexican and more. They usually take less than 5 minutes to cook in the microwave and cost anywhere from $1 - $5 in the store. Some more "home made" options might be spaghetti - boil some spaghetti noodles and top with a jar of pasta sauce or alfredo sauce and cheese. If you are feeling especially ambitious - add some meatballs (buy the premade bags of them from the grocery store). My brother is a bachelor in the air force and swears that Hormel Chilli (canned) can top anything (noodles, chips, hotdogs - whatever) and he always keeps a bag of frozen tator tots on hand, too. Those you just put on a cookie sheet and bake according to the package. Other simple and inexpensive meals might be pre-cooked bratworst (by Johnsonville) - pop in the microwave and put on a bun; frozen ravioli - found in the freezer section - just boil until they float and add in some frozen broccoli and a jar of alfredo sauce by Ragu. I have reached my goal weight and I am thinking about allowing myself a treat tomorrow night of a chinese take out for dinner. I had Chinese take out tonight. I ordered : "steamed chicken w. mixed vegetables." ok so it came with a side of brown sauce which I know the caps for that stuff but I was just wondering about the chicken and veggies. The veggies were mostly broccoli, with some baby pea pods, water chestnuts, baby corn, mushrooms, and carrots. Can you explain to me what happens when you open the door and a police officer is standing there with a search warrant? Is it just like on TV? Do they just hand it to you, walk in, and begin tearing your place apart, or are you allowed to read the entire warrant before you let them in? Me: Breakfast is a cup of really good coffee, generally Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. I like it black =) Lunch is a small salad and/or an avocado with salt and pepper (depending on how hungry I am). Buy this stuff at the grocery or at the web site. Put your chicken in a pan pour this sauce on it. Put in refrigerator 4 hours. Grill or saute up your chicken adds some veggies and rice. My friend is diabetic and she eats Chinese food all the time. I was wondering how bad this is for her and if anyone knows the average nurtitional info of an order of beef and broccoli w/ rice and all? It is a lot of food in one of those Chinese take out containers.|||Diabetics can and should eat broccoli. We can also eat all the meat that we want. Our goal is to NOT eat sugar and CARBS. If your friend eats "white" rice, tell her to stop eating it. She should not eat anything white no matter what it is. She could maybe have 1/4 cup of brown rice, but that's all. She should not eat the gravy on the meat and broccoli either - it has carbs and sugar in it. I lost 40 pounds by not eating carbs and sugar.|||That is not something a diabetic should be eating...too much sugar in it!|||it really depends on what's added to the beef & broccoli as far as sauces and seasonings. that's where the real trouble lies. eating beef and other red meats more than once a week really isn't the greatest for you either. with her being diabetic, high sodium or sugar content of anything isn't good for her. rice is high in starch and carbs which are mainly sugars and little fiber. most american thinese food is high in sodium and sugar from the sauces that are loaded with soy sauce, corn starch, and sugar or corn syrup. eaten in high quantities this is not good for her.|||Chinese food is all wok fried... therefore there is a lot of oil in it... But, if she likes it, she likes it...|||Traditional Chinese foods (not the take-out kind) can be truly healthy, without the MSG and all the oil. Tell your friend to choose healthier Chinese options such as vegetable stir-fry (just make sure the veggies are half-cooked and with very little oil), fish and chicken breasts. If she's diabetic, she should really cut down on the rice (it's all carbs). Beef and broccoli's OK as long as it's eaten in moderation - too much of anything is bad.|||it isnt|||Yeah, that's pretty fattening. You know at your favorite Chinese take out place - they have their fried chicken wings - I've been trying to find a recipe for them and I can't! I heard it's made with a corn starch slurry, then I heard it's all about the oil used ... anyone know?|||They're actually garlic fried chicken (wings). What you need to do is prepare your chicken wings. Boil enough water for the chicken. Once the water is boiling, put the chicken in for 3 minutes and take out to let it dry. You can put in the fridge if you want or need to. Seasoned with garlic powder - be generous with the garlic. Put in plastic bag and let air out and twist tie. Let it marinate for 4 hours or overnight or as long as it's safe. On the cooking day, take out of the fridge and season with salt and a little black pepper. (MSG options, but they almost always have it as part of the seasoning.). MIX: 1 part (or cup) all purpose flour 1 part (or cup) cornstarch 1 part cold/cool water - add more water if needed 1 tsp salt 1 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp black pepper (option) 1/2 tsp MSG (option) 1 tsp baking powder (or use soda water instead of regular water) The thicker the batter, the more bready it gets. You want the batter between pancake batter and watery. Add a little more cornstarch for more crispness. Flour the chicken if it's a bit damp. You want the chicken on the dry side so the batter will stick to it. Put in a deep enough hot oil (350 degree f.). Fry about 12-15 minutes - till you get the right brown color, turning from time to time to prevent from burning. Let it cool a little at least, and serve.|||Asian Crispy Chicken Wings & Spicy Sweet Chili Sauce Recipe 2 pounds chicken wings, cut at joints. 1 cup rice flour or all purpose flour. 1 cup grape seed/peanut/vegetable oil for frying 2 garlic cloves, crushed or finely minced 1 cup water 2 1/2 teaspoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 Tablespoon fish sauce or soy sauce (recommend fish sauce) 1 Tablespoon vinegar 1 Tablespoon garlic chili sauce, tabasco sauce, or sriracha sauce. Fresh ground black pepper to taste 1 Tablespoon cornstarch or potato starch 1. Rinse chicken wings and pat dry. In bowl, add rice flour and fresh ground black pepper and add wings to coat with flour. 2. Fry wings on both sides till cooked through and golden brown. 3. . For the Sauce: In small bowl, combine cornstarch and about 1 Tablespoon of water until mixture becomes watery, almost milky consistency. Combine well, then set aside. 4 In saucepan, add about 1 Tablespoon oil and fry garlic until it becomes slightly golden. Add water 1 cup of water, sugar, salt, fish sauce, chili sauce, vinegar and black pepper. Combine well and allow to slowly come to boil. Once mixture comes to a boil, turn off heat. 5. Slowly add about 1 Table spoon of cornstarch to the warm sauce mixture until it becomes thick enough to allow sauce to cling to wings. If the first Tablespoon was enough, then do not use the rest. 6. In separate bowl, add crispy chicken wings and toss with chili sauce. 7. Top with some sliced green onion and/or cilantro.|||CHINESE-FRIED CHICKEN WINGS 3 lbs. (about 16) chicken wings 2 eggs, slightly beaten 2/3 c. milk 1 c. all-purpose flour 2 tbsp. soy sauce Vegetable oil for deep-frying Salt Using kitchen shears, cut off wing tip, cutting at the joint. Reserve tips for use at another time. Cut the other two sections at joint. At center of each section, cut to the bone all the way around, then make 5 cuts lengthwise from circle to ends. Mix next 4 ingredients until smooth and blended. Dip chicken in batter and fry in hot deep oil (350 F. on frying thermometer) until browned and crisp. Drain and sprinkle with salt. Makes about 32 pieces. OR CHINESE CHICKEN WINGS 24 chicken wings 3/4 cup soy sauce 3/4 cup dry sherry 1 1/2 teaspoons ginger 3 cloves garlic, crushed 3 tablespoons honey 6 cups vegetable or peanut oil (for frying) Cut off tips of chicken wings if desired. Place wings into a large ziploc bag or storage container with soy sauce, sherry, ginger, garlic and honey. Stir to distribute all ingredients (except oil) and coat the chicken pieces well. Place in refrigerator overnight, stirring around occasionally to make sure all pieces are marinated evenly. Preheat oil to 360-365 degrees in a heavy bottom pan. Drain wings and lower several at a time into hot oil using tongs. Do not overload fryer to prevent oil temperature from dropping too much. Fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Recipe may be halved JM|||Ingredients.... * 3 pounds chicken wings (12 to 14) * 1 onion * a 1 1/2-inch piece peeled fresh gingerroot * 2 tablespoons soy sauce (preferably Kikkoman) * 1鈥?tablespoons medium-dry Sherry * 1 tablespoon Chinese five-spice powder * 1 tablespoon sugar * 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon coarse salt * 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper, or to taste * 1/2 cup cornstarch * 6 cups vegetable oil Cut off wing tips, reserving for another use, and halve wings at joint. Coarsely chop onion and finely chop gingerroot. In a large sealable plastic bag combine onion, gingerroot, soy sauce, Sherry, five-spice powder, sugar, and 1 teaspoon salt. Add wings and seal bag, pressing out excess air. Turn bag until wings are completely coated. Marinate chicken wings in bag in a large bowl, chilled, turning bag once, 2 hours. Preheat oven to 350掳F. Transfer wings and marinade to a roasting pan or large shallow baking pan and bake, covered with foil, in middle of oven 1 hour. Cool wings until they can be handled and drain in a colander, discarding marinade. Wings may be prepared up to this point 1 day ahead and chilled, covered. Reduce temperature to 250掳F. In a small serving bowl combine remaining 2 tablespoons salt and pepper. Put cornstarch in a small bowl and dredge each wing, knocking off excess cornstarch and transferring to a shallow pan. In a 5- to 6-quart heavy kettle heat oil until a deep-fat thermometer registers 370掳F. Working in batches of 6 or 7, fry wings in oil until golden brown, about 3 minutes, and with a slotted spoon transfer to paper towels to drain. Keep wings warm on a baking sheet in oven. Fry remaining wings in same manner, returning oil to 370掳F. between batches. Serve wings with salt and pepper mixture.|||IMO, wash off the wings, coat the wings with CORNSTARCH ONLY! Then deep fry them in peanut (or vegetable) oil for around 14 minutes, preferably in a deep fryer. I think this is exactly what you are looking for and is SOOOOO simple. Give it a shot, and good luck! These turn out EXTRA crispy like the ones you are looking for!

I don't Know what happened. In H.S. I was top notch. then i came to College and have been ******* up ever since. My grades are terrible I'm on academic probation and this is my second time on it. I have no scholarship, because i lost mind. I cant do the major i want which is finance, so i have to settle for econ. Life is generally going bad. i no i need to pick it up. But i just can't find the motivation. Usually when this happens I've always got myself back up. but academic probation again. AND i am completely to blame, when My friends were studying iw as out partying drinking and going after girls. Wednesday i had 200 cals thur-260 fri-400 today-271 then i almost passed out, got worried and shoved my fave with 500 calories. right now i feel better, not full. My dad is getting Chinese take out. I am about to say **** MY ED TONIGHT and i am going to eat what i want. If i get chinese food tonight and just eat normally then go backt o my 0-400 cals per day ways tomorrow, ill be fine, right? I mean ONE day of indulgence wont hurt...right? i know it takes a couple days to gain real fat/weight Also...what should i get at the Chinese place?|||First of all, if you are only eating that many calories a day you need to seek professional help. It is not healthy to eat that way and you could be harming your body. If you eat too much tonight you will gain a little weight, but it sounds like you could use it. We don't really have much in my house as far as healthy food is concerned right now. We have absolutely no fruit or vegetables (aside from some salad greens and we don't even have dressing!) I'm thinking about ordering Chinese from the local Chinese take-out place near my house. My plan is to walk about 1.6 miles to a local shopping center to get my bangs trimmed. I will order lunch on my way back from getting my bangs cut, so I'll be doing about 3 miles of walking (in addition to my usual 3 miles of Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds). What are my best options for Chinese? I'm thinking that I'll get my entree with brown rice and a cup of Wonton Soup. But all Chinese American food is high in sodium content, so if you're trying to diet, all that high sodium in the food may not be good for you. There are a few reasons I don't like to cook. a. Bugs. I have lived in 2 different apartment and both have bug/ants problems as soon as I bring food in. And I don't like to keep fresh fruit around because of gnats. b. I like to eat what I am in the mood for. When you cook, you cook what is in your cabinets. If you want sweet tea to drink, but you only have kool-aid then your out-of-luck. c. When I do cook, I have left-overs. Then the left-overs don't get eaten and they go bad. d. It just never seems to taste as good as something from a restaurant or take-out place. I love Chinese food, and nothing from the grocery store ever tastes the same as from the Chinese take-out place. f. I can't plan a menu and stick to it. Some of these goes back to b. If I planned to make pasta, chances are that's not what I will end up wanting. g. Too many things go bad. I live alone and I can't even buy a half-gallon of milk because it goes bad too quickly, same with a loaf of bread.|||Ok, there's like 5 questions here and I will try to address them all because I have lived your life in more ways than you could ever know. A: Bug Problems, well, obviously, everything must go in the frig and the pantry items have to be in a sealed container, line your pantry shelves with Bay leaves and hope that your Pest Control Service comes once a month! B: Buy in bulk, then seperate it out in single servings. C: Left overs are easy, just make sure you don't combine your proteins, starches and vegetables and with little research via website for leftovers or ingredients lists of what you have, you can utilize them. D: Of course, without the culinary expertise of the Chef's, your home food will NOT taste the same, but with some basic recipes for fried rice and simple wok fried chicken and shrimp, your home cooked Chinese take out will taste closest to the delivery person without the expense and the MSG....... E: I don't see an E here! F: We all deal with this, no matter what the size of our pantry or refrigerator, so this is where the creativity begins. Try and combine the things you love together and see how they taste. Don't be afraid to experiment, especially with leftovers, because they are going to be garbage the next day anyways. G: yes, they don't sell enough smaller portioned items for us single people, but with a little knowledge, we can overcome. Milk can be frozen, juices can be bought in the can, mixed with our own water then seperated out for our own usage. Meats can be bought in bulk and portioned out when we get home, sauces can be made in large batches, then frozen in smaller sizes......................yes, I know these aren't all the EASY answers you are looking for but maybe, this could be a start. If you live in a buggy environment keep foods sealed well and in the fridge. Freeze leftovers for later. Buy milk by the quart, buy a loaf of bread and freeze half. Try finding a recipe you like and freezing dinner sized portions for later. www.allrecipes.com|||ok. so you dont like to cook and you dont like the expense of constantly eating out. my suggestions: a. take a few cooking classes. you can get some good ideas for easy meals that taste great. you will also learn to season your food so that you want to eat your own cooking...fast food really all tastes the same, "fancy" restaurants taste better because they season the foods according to the meats. if you are a big seafood fan, try using caravelle's orange chili sauce ( just marinate and grill....that stuff rocks!) b. there are a few essential foods that you should always have in the kitchen....that are inexpensive and easy to be creative with. canned stewed tomatoes ( you can get these in so many ways; jalapeno n garlic tom's,basil tom's, etc). also plenty of canned or frozen veggies...tortilla's....pasta...whatever you find that you eat most when you dine out. c. try getting the 'better homes and garden's cooking for two' of the 'betty crocker, cooking for two'....you wont have too many leftovers in the fridge and the recipes are healthy and light. d. the most important thing to look at is what do you most often eat when you eat out....those may be some of the basic foods to keep in stock and learn to cook. in the long run you may find that cooking at home can be WAY MORE REWARDING than constantly dinning out. and if you get bugs.....get whatever it takes to get rid of them!|||FROZEN FOOD Now a days there's frozen restaurant food like marie calenders claim jumper and many don't have meats maybe cheese pizza Brocoli with potatoes and cheese and there's many many good selection buy different stuff so when u are running late or when ur tired of eating out ull have something that fits what u want also granola bars (eating out everyday is boring)

Okay, I have answered so many questions in this category that I feel like I at least deserve to put my question here... I have met an amazing woman on a dating website. She is exactly my type from head to toe! When I messaged her, we immediately hit it off. Last Friday I took her out and the night was perfect. As a teenager, I worked at a Chinese take-out restaurant where they would "offer up" all the food they prepared to the statue of Buddha. I was told that all Asians practice this as a symbol of good luck and for them to have prosperity at their restaurants. So I was just wondering if Christians felt the need to re-bless their food in order to get rid of the "contamination" blessing of the Buddha...? Or why even eat food at a place that offers a sacrifice to another God-like figure in the first place?|||lol, now they will try to perform an exorcism on it to remove the evil spirit of Buddha.|||ooooo.....huh. I grew up in and around Toronto, Canada and I would, as many do, go for Chinese take-out every once in a while. Now of course, there are good restaurants and bad restaurants, but by and large, the fried rice tasted pretty much the same no matter where I went. We would normally order the pork friend rice of chicken friend rice. The meats lent slightly different flavors to the dish, but still, basically the same. Well, I don't live in Canada anymore and the restaurants here in Japan make Chinese fried rice very differently. They use the Japanese rice which is very sticky and it tends to be very oily (perhaps in an attempt to make it less sticky?)... Anyway, personally, I don't like the fried rice here very much. I almost never eat it. Instead, I'd like to learn how to make it at home. I can obtain some Basmati rice, which isn't sticky, so I intend to use that, although I'm not sure it's necessarily the best rice for Chinese dishes. Still, it's all I've got so that's that. I've tried to find a recipe that will give me the same taste as the restaurants that surround Toronto (and most likely have the same taste across North America) but every recipe I've tried falls way short. I just can't seem to get the same flavors, no matter what I try. Considering that pretty much every restaurant I've ever been to gives almost the same taste, I imagine it's not a huge secret! So how can I make this myself? Does anyone know of a recipe on the net (or perhaps your own) for making rice exactly like they do in North American restaurants? (I'm not interested in something 'better'. I just want to reproduce the taste I used to enjoy when I was younger.) I have some family here in southern Massachusetts from the San Francisco bay area (Castro Valley) and we had Chinese take out. They were pretty much horrified at what passed for Chinese food here in Massachusetts. For example, the roasted pork chow mein we ordered was the dry kind of chow mein type we had to soften ourselves when it got home (it seems the bay area version is more noodle-like than the dry stuff we get served here on in MA). Also, the sweet and sour pork here in MA is 3-inch long pieces of pork in a white/golden brown batter with an orange sweet and sour sauce. The bay area version I'm not too sure about except that it looks much different (and the taste too) and comes with different things like cabbage, etc on the plate. Why is there such a marked difference in what has the same name (i.e. chow mein and sweet and sour pork). I'm sure there's other differences, that's just what we ordered here in Massachusetts. I'm just curious what passes for Chinese food in CA and why it's so different here on the east coast. Also, the place we ordered the food from here in MA has great reviews and is always mentioned as one of the better Asian restaurants in our town. There is a standard style of cuisine in this country I would call "restaurant Chinese". In fact, the food is so standardized that it would appear the restaurants just buy the menus preprinted from a central supplier. In the absence of a large ethnic Chinese population that demands more authentic Chinese food, this is what you get. So you know what to expect in Massachusetts, in Florida, in Indiana, in Montana... In certain large areas on the West Coast there are large enough populations that demand real authentic Chinese food that you end up with something very different. So basically it is the West Coast that is the exception. As far as the crunchy noodles go, you're supposed to eat them hard. You can find authentic Chinese food in Chinatown. Seeing as how I don't get there very often, I prefer to cook Chinese food at home from cookbooks.

We get Chinese take-out often from several places. I always order the same thing. Wasn't sure at first but now it's unmistakable, the food from one place ALWAYS makes me sick. The food from this place has an odd smell that the others don't: kind of a sour milky smell but it doesn't contain any milk. What could it be?|||that all depends on what the food you ordered was, the Chinese have a very different way of cooking to us, they tend to have a lot of additives natural & other items like monosodium glutamate. this enhances the flavour of food but can also cause allergies. your "off smell" was most likley caused by their "stock"(base for most sauces) if you tell me what your food was i could answer your question better!|||Well maybe if you put down what you ordered that would help.

I always hear about them...|||It's hard to say what anyone will or will not like. Cheese/cream cheese wontons are definitely americanized, even relative to the usual americanized Chinese food served in the USA. So my guess is that they would be more palatable to your tastes (assuming you are American). Dim sum is a really a variety of lighter dishes (as in steamed vs fried and drenched in sauce) often eaten with tea. So there is no single dim sum dish. You may like some more than others. You just have to try different ones. Do you have a bunch of friends who like Chinese food or are willing to try? If so, go to a restaurant serving dim sum and order several dishes to share amongst the group. That's the best way to taste a variety of dishes and also split the cost, since dimsum can be pricey.|||I know that the fried cheese won tons are fabulous...the dim sum...IDK...so tell me all about afterwards...|||I like them....cheese wonton are really a mixture of fake crab and cream cheese stuffed inside a wonton wrapper and deep fried while dim sum are wontons filled with meat then pan fried or steamed. The ones I've had consisted of only cream cheese and chives, have yet to try any other ones with different stuffing's. About Dim Sum, there are some that are good and some most people would have a hard time trying, for example, "chicken feet", it's part of the menu for Dim Sum, I've seen it all the time but don't like it much. I've tried almost all kinds of Dim Sum and that would be my least favorite.|||While we certainly cannot tell you what you'll like or not since taste is subjective, one of my very favorite things are wontons. But you'll never know until you try them, so go for it.|||I've never had a cheese wonton, but I make cream cheese wontons that are pretty good. Dim Sum is good too. If you like Chinese food, then you will probably like anything on the menu. I have yet to have Chinese food I don't like.|||Haven't try cheese wonton, so don't no. You will love dim sum bc you get to see the food and pick whatever you like to eat or try. It's fun eating a little of everything instead of order one or two main course, but it's kind of expensive. If you are having a great time, it shouldn't matter.

There are a ton of noodles from Asia which are different from the Italian ones, Germany has spaetzle, etc. Certain cheeses are associated with different countries too, like queso fresco with Mexico, Parmesan with Italy, Feta with Greece, lots with France and America. Or like how similar foods show up in very different cultures. Egg/spring rolls from Asian countries, burritos from Mexico, calzone from Italy, Cornish pasties from England, etc. You could represent them any way you wanted really, from sculpting, to painting, to photography.

I ate dinner tonight (local Chinese take out) and about 20 mins after eating I got the worst pain in my side. I have never felt this pain before and it seems to be getting worse. Like by my house there is a amazing chinese place that sells most of their stuff for $5. Their plates can feed like three people. I bet there's a small chinese restaurant that is like that in your area. You can also try to make your own chinese food. Spring rolls are easy to make lol. If not then order the pizza. Dominoes does medium pizzas for $5 each so you can buy 5 medium pizzas. That is, if they do that deal in your area. You can also have a potluck type of thing and have your friends each bring a dish. $25 isn't going to get you very far. =[|||What do you mean by takeout? Do you mean go to a resturant, order their dishes to go? That would be wayy more than $25. when my family goes out to eat chinese food(which is all the time cause i'm chinese), it's usually around $30-40 for 4 people, about 5 dishes, but we usually have leftover. If you mean takeout as in fried rice and noodles, you might be able to get it for about $25. In the Chinatown over here in Sf, a box of fried rice/noodles is $1... So maybe go to your local chinatown and ask them about big orders in one of those giant foiled pans.|||Food for ten people will DEFINITELY be more than $25. If it's possible to get some recipes and try to make it, I think that would be the best bet. And buy what is too difficult to make or just something like egg rolls. But I bet it will be at least twice that amount for 10 people. Probably more, depending on how much they eat.|||Why don't you ask everyone at the party to bring $5? That way you'll have $50 which will almost provide for you all. Plus if you have $25 on top of the $50 you'll have $75. This means that $75 dollars would easily feed you all with decent chinese food. In general, thigh meat is used (flavor) it is seasoned and coated with flour and cornstarch and fried in oil. It is then drained and then stir fried with the other ingredients and a sauce is added. It would be too long to go into the exact recipe here, but that is the general method.|||I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but I'm going to give it a shot anyways: chicken wings 500 grams table salt 1 tspn flour 1 big tspn sweet condensed milk 2 tspn 1) get a big bowl and put all the ingredients in and mix with the chicken 2) after mixing the chicken into a sticky paste of all the ingredients, let it soak for 2 hours so the flavor really goes in 3) the chicken wings are ready to be fried in the deep fryer 4) voila! yummy crispy chicken wings|||well usually use soy sauce season salt and fve spce powder. than fry 4 about 1 mn. enjoy

Dog barfed 4 times 10 minutes after taking his monthly heartworm preventative. Should I give him another one? It was not the medication that made him sick, he had gotten into some food he should not have gotten into, chinese take out, and then played WWF smackdown with a buddy of his. So the tummy upset did not come from the medication. Should I go ahead and give him another? Im pretty much sure he threw up the first one completely.|||Always ask your vet first, but I had an incident where I accidentally gave 2 heartguards to one dog, instead of 1 to both dogs. I called the vet and he said that the dose is so small that it isn't a big deal. If you are pretty sure he threw most of it up, then I would assume the vet will tell you to give another, but like I said, call the vet first.|||No dont give him another contact you vet and get with them on what to do. You cant be for sure how much d=he got and what didnt and can easly overdose him.|||It wouldn't hurt him to have another one, but wait for a day or two when he feels better. It is almost impossible to OD on Heartguard, so you won't hurt him by giving him another one.|||Call your vet, the other poster may be incorrect & you may hurt your dog. And keep junk food such as that away from animals.|||I would, but ask your vet if you are not comfortable with that. ANYONE FROM A CHINESE TAKE OUT PLZ HELP ME|||Find one skinny brown chinese man and tell him to make some or you'll squeeze it outta him.|||what|||Chinese Brown Sauce 2 tablespoons soy sauce, shoyu, or Bragg’s 3/4 cup water ½ – 1 tablespoon grated ginger 1 teaspoon chopped garlic (1 clove) 1 tablespoon cornstarch 1 tablespoon molasses Here are the directions if using meat / vegetables with the sauce: Cook any meat first. Remove it from the pan. Stir-fry your veggies. Mix up all the sauce ingredients in a measuring cup. Add a few pieces of hot veggies to the measuring cup to preheat the cornstarch. Dump all the sauce into the pan with the veggies (and add the meat back, if using) and bring to a boil. Simmer for a minute or two until the sauce is clear and thickened.

Wonton wrappers pkg cream cheese scallions chopped fine old bay seafood seasoning can of crabmeat! (FORGOT TO ADD THIS) Mix everything together than take a tsp of filling for each won-ton. wet each side of the wonton and fold up tightly. Deep fry and you will have a great wonton!!!|||This is how I make em!Yeah you buy wonton wraps, and in a separate bowl, mix cream cheese, crab meat(shreded) and a little shreded cheese if you want, mix it all and put it on the wonton wrap, Then as directed on the package make it into the shape thingy and then put it in a deap fat fryer, If you don't have a fryer you can get vegetable oil in a pot and heat it on high.|||I don't know exactly how to get the skin they use, but if you just grab egg roll skin from any asian store and just put in cream cheese and imitation crab meat I believe and fry it. It's not exactly like the restaurant, because of the skin, but overall, it's the same with the cheese and crab meat.

I was going to use them at my wedding because I saw a lot of pics of other weddings there that had them, but the ceiling was too high for us to hang them. The little takeout containers can be for your favors, you could put chocolates or candles or something else inside them.

Its next door to a Chinese take out, and a park, aswell as a back alley there were children playing around the area and ive asked around how people find living there and they've said the police are really on top and its great for family's the school is walking distance but I just don't know x|||It is my honest belief that your neighbourhood is only as bad as the people you associate with, if you are not involved in crime, don't worry, if your attract honest, decent people you will be fine. I tend to try and watch the anime movies more than the series since watching a series will make you want to have all the episodes and they often have 20 + and you have to pay for each sepearately or sometimes several episodes are on 1 tape or DVD but it's still expensive. Some are short like Project A-k 1-3. I heard there was a spin off or alternate universe OVAs of it or something but I haven't seen it yet. No resturaunts, no pizza delievery, no chinese take out. We have been eating out every night for the last week and a half because of the heat. Now I need to make something without heating up my house! No sandwiches either.... Please any ideas on a good supper without heating up the house.. No cooking required!|||Have someone BBQ, which would happen outside of course. Or make a chef salad. Grab some french bread and put some butter on it, and you have a filling meal. The meat in the salad fills you up and there's no cooking involved. We don't have AC, only a swamp cooler. When the temp gets over 100, like it has been lately, the swamp cooler is almost useless, so I can't even think about cooking or it'll be 10x's worse. We usually make a chef salad....other nights we make sub sandwiches like they have at Subway. Oh and if you can boil pasta late at night when it's cooled down, or early morning before it's too hot, do so. Get some rotini pasta noodles, cook them and put them in the fridge for later. Then when you're ready, get some Kilbasa sausage or something similar (brown that in the morning too), frozen broccoli (thawed in the microwave), sliced olives, and some thinly sliced red bell peppers. Mix it all up at night when you're ready for dinner, put your favorite dressing (usually a lite italian is good) and you'll have pasta salad w/out heating up your house.|||Boy do I know the feeling. Or roll up in Flour Tortillas for Wraps Toss all ingredients (except the bread) together. Enjoy with bread. For the kids: Get some Pita bread, jar of pizza sauce and shredded cheese and let them make cold pizza, or pop-it in the microwave. I also stock up on Chunky Style Soups, and heat them in the mirowave. There are a ton of varieties to choose from. Try cooking the meals in the mornings and fix everyone's plates, wrap in plastic wrap and store in the fridge or freezer. At mealtime, heat the plates and unwrap and serve. You get a home cooked meal and don't suffer the evening heat. Or, Place a chunk of meat in a crock pot in the morning, and spices, and simmer on low for 4-8 hours, about two hours before serving, add potatoes and carrots. Turn on high for two hours and serve with dinner rolls.

Also its not a chicken breast its pieces with bread coating.|||With that sort of food it is very difficult to say how many calories are in it. But it is safe to say that it is usually many more calories than we think. What makes take out food so tasty is all the fat and rich sauces. So lets say a serving of chicken and a serving of pork and a serving of rice which would total about 350 calories and add on calories for the sauce so maybe 450 calories. That's about what I would guess.

You can keep all that raw food, I'd never eat it either! Being a vegan must really suck!|||Lots of ranch dressing|||Buy some v-8 juice very tasty that's my advice,junk food is ok just in moderation,gotta live a little|||Make stir-fries for yourself; done properly they're healthy. The secret is in the technique, not any specific recipe. Cook the rice separately, heat 1 cup in 2 tbsp oil first. Add to 2 cups of boiling water, cover & reduce heat. Simmer for 45 minutes until water is all absorbed. Slice boneless chicken breast or thighs, or slice pork chops or beef steaks in strips. Brown & set aside. Add vegetables to hot pan in order of cooking time: Carrots, water chestnuts, broccoli, bok-choy, celery, onions, garlic, peppers, bean sprouts, etc. Leave about 2 minutes between each addition. Return meat. Finish with 2 tbsp cornstarch with 1/2 cup water. Whisk together with some soy sauce to darken. Add to vegetables to thicken & form gravy. Serve over steamed rice|||Don't beat yourself up, and don't try to make it an all or nothing proposition to start with. If you want take out, have it-but enjoy it in moderation, AND throw in a glass of homemade juice somewhere throughout the day. By combining the two to start with, you will feel less deprived. Once you reframe the way you think about it, and start noticing some benefits from that lovely juice, you are likely to start WANTING to make changes. If you convince yourself that the junk food is good, and the good stuff is not, thats exactly how you will continue to think about it. If you take the time to ENJOY a glass of homemade juice-even the act of juicing it, washing the veggies, etc., then your thoughts may very well change. Its all in the approach. Good luck.|||Buy some broccoli, baby corn, stir fry sauce, and udon noodles. Sautee the carrots and broccoli until tender, then add the corn, sauce, and spinach. Meanwhile, boil the noodles. Warm rice pudding is so yummy. 2 1/2 cups (600 ml) of whole milk 1/3 cup (66 grams) of long or short grain white rice 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 egg 1/4 cup (50 grams) dark brown sugar 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon 1/3 cup (40 grams) raisins 1 In a medium heavy bottomed saucepan, combine milk, rice and salt and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer until the rice is tender, about 20 minutes. Stir frequently to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pan. 2 In a small mixing bowl, whisk together egg and brown sugar until well mixed. Add a half cup of the rice mixture - a Tablespoon at a time - beating to incorporate. 3 Add egg mixture back into the saucepan of rice and milk and stir, on low heat, for 10 minutes or so, until thickened. Be careful not to have the mixture come to a boil at this point. Stir in the vanilla. Remove from heat and stir in the raisins. Serve warm or cold. Accent Dash of pepper 1/4 tsp. sugar 1 c. chicken broth 1 box rice Chow mein noodles Slice onions, celery, cabbage and chicken into 1/2" slices. Using high flame, heat a well greased frying pan and add salt, onions, celery, cabbage. Stir for 1/2 minute. Add chicken broth, cover and cook for 3 minutes. Add chicken, cornstarch, Accent, pepper, sugar and tomatoes. Stir and cook for 3 minutes. Add chow mein noodles on rice. CHICKEN CHOW MEIN 1/4 c. chopped onion 1 (4 oz.) can mushroom stems and pieces, drained (reserve liquid) 2 tbsp. butter 2 c. diagonally sliced celery 1 (1 lb.) can bean sprouts, drained 3 tbsp. soy sauce 1 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. cornstarch 3 tbsp. water 1 1/2 c. cut-up cooked chicken or turkey Chow mein noodles In large skillet, cook and stir onion and mushrooms in butter until onion is tender. Add enough water to reserved mushroom liquid to measure 1 1/2 cups liquid. Stir into onion-mushroom mixture with celery, bean sprouts, soy sauce, sugar and salt. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered 15 minutes. Blend cornstarch and water; stir into vegetable mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 minute. Yesterday I ordered Chinese Take out and I had no clue how much to tip the delivery guy! Is it the same as if you were at a Restaurant? I order about 40$ worth of food, and tipped the guy 5$. Combine dressing, preserves and soup mix in a bowl, stirring well. Place chicken in a greased pan and pour mixture over top. Roast for 45 minutes or until done OR SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN 2 chicken breast 2 green bell peppers 1 red bell pepper 1 celery stalk 2 carrots 1 small can pineapple 1 small can mushrooms soy sauce mustard catup hot sauce vinegar brown sugar cornstarch garlic ginger (one piece about 1 inch) Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and rub with crushed garlic and ginger and marinate for 5 mins until the wok gets hot. Put a tablespoon of oil and the remaining garlic and the chicken. As soon as the chicken is done, add chopped vegetables and stir fry for only a minute, as you need them to be crunchy. This is natural human reaction, and I have nothing against a good meal, while we can afford one. But we would still need to understand why we got into the crisis in the first place. The times when people left everything to a king, queen, general, politicians, any great leader or even a God like figure and those figures worked out a solution for everybody, those times are gone. You want to gain weight, not gain weight AND health problems. Your brother had the right idea...a good way to gain weight is to drink Ensure/Boost shakes between meals. You get a lot of calories and nutrients, and no junk. Also try drinking a lot of fruit juice for extra calories. I like the simple cabbage and pork egg rolls from Chinese take out. A lot of these places have similar egg rolls. I have tried to make them, but my flavors are off... really off. The only recipes I find are complicated and full of mushrooms, bean sprouts, carrots and other such veggies. I know most people find the more complex recipes desirable, but I prefer the simple pork and cabbage egg roll. Does anyone have a recipe for these? PLEASE! It is driving me crazy, not to mention broke with all the failed attempts.|||TRADITIONAL EGG ROLLS One cup green cabbage (shredded) One cup purple cabbage (shredded) One quarter cup of carrots (shredded) One quarter cup of soy sauce One quarter cup of teriyaki sauce One package of egg roll wraps Mix all of your ingredients together in a bowl be sure to cover the cabbage and carrots in the soy sauce and teriyaki sauce so it is evenly blended. Open you egg roll package and remove the first wrap. Place a quarter cup of the ingredients in the center of the wrap in a line then roll the wrap to close. Repeat till you have the desired amount of egg rolls. Preheat you oven to 325 degrees. Using a cookie sheet or shallow baking pan lightly grease and place your egg rolls about two inches apart, bake for 10 minutes. The wrap should be a very light brown color Tip Using prepared (shredded) coleslaw mix will save you a lot of time in preparing your egg rolls. I like to add 1 teaspoons black pepper|||if u go to your local grocery store they sell frozen ones. all u have to do is put them in the oven on 350 for 15 min|||Go to 'Iceland' freezer store, they do some good ones, also check out your local Chinese supermarket. Many that you get from a takeaway have been brought as frozen, otherwise you'd have to wait ages while they made them fresh! I went to a fancy chinese restaurant and had moo shi chicken and it was AMAZING! Since I can't go there that often, I looked on the menu of my local chinese take out and noticed they didn't have moo shi chicken but they had moo shoo beef. Is it the same thing but with beef instead? Thanks.|||They are probably the same item. Keep in mind that even burger joints make their burgers differently. Both restaurants will use similar ingredients but often fancier places will give you very thin rice flour "tortillas" while lower grade restaurants will give you a wheat tortilla similar to what you'd find in a Mexican restaurant. Personally, I prefer the thin tortilla and either vegetarian or shrimp Mu Shu (yes, another spelling!). Be sure to dab a small amount of hoisin sauce and use some green onions with your filling.|||One reads like a pepper sneeze and the other reads like a cheese sneeze... Bless you...

my sister brought chinese take out and i dont think im gonna finish it all tonight..how do you reheat it to make it taste the same..will it work on the microwave??if not how would you reheat it using the oven or frying pan|||Reheating Fried Rice & Chicken: InstructionsThings You'll Need: Left over fried rice A microwaveable bowl A paper towel Water Step 1Put your leftover fried rice in a microwaveable container. Step 2Get a paper towel, wet it, and then squeeze most of the moisture back out. You want the paper towel to be a little more than damp, but not dripping. Step 3Spread the paper towel back out and place it over your bowl of leftover fried rice. Step 4Microwave the fried rice for between 2-3 minutes depending on the temperature and heating ability of your microwave and the portion size of fried rice. I tend to err on the longer side. If you have a very large amount of fried rice -- over two cups -- you may need to extend the cooking time to 4-5 minutes. Step 5Let the rice stand for 2-3 minutes after it's done cooking. The paper towel will have steamed the rice and both the paper towel and the bowl of fried rice will be VERY HOT. Step 6After the rice has sat for 1-2 minutes, carefully remove the paper towel and throw it away. Use an over mitt if necessary. After that, you're free to enjoy a great tasting bowl of reheated fried rice!|||It will work in the microwave, and fried rice is probably easier to heat in the microwave. Just put the food in for a minute at a time, stirring in between each interval. Once it starts to get warm you can start putting it in for 30 seconds at a time, still stirring in between. However, I prefer to heat up chicken or mixed veggies on the stove. It gets much more evenly heated that way, I think! It's really easy. Just put it in a pot so that it spreads out well, the chicken shouldn't go higher than 2 or 3 inches. Add a little bit of water (maybe about 1/4 cup, or a little less for an average sized serving). The water amount doesn't have to be exact; I usually turn the faucet on high for about a second and call it good. The water is just to help heat up the chicken and keep it from sticking to the pan, and also to add back any water into the sauce that might have evaporated overnight. Turn the stove on medium to medium high heat and keep an eye on it... stir every once in a while so it doesn't stick to the bottom. It will start to sizzle. After a little while, take out a thick piece of chicken, cut it in half and feel the middle, just to make sure it's all the way warmed up. Then transfer to a plate, and enjoy! Edit: Forgot to add, make sure you don't put any metal in the microwave (don't use the takeout container if it has metal handles!) and make sure you use a dish that is microwave safe.|||Pour it into a bowl or onto a dish add 1 or 2 tbsp water cover with wax paper and heat it for 3 minutes.|||mirowave will be faster if i was u ill put in the oven for 5 mintues

I was at a Chinese take out that makes fries, wings, eggrolls and all that, put a heap of clams in the deep fryer.|||Sure... restaurants can use the same fryer for any type of food. There is no health code rule for using the same fryer for potatoes and meat. This is because fryers are generally set at about 350 F., which is hot enough to kill any bacteria associated with raw chicken, seafood or any type of meat. However, if you happened to be vegan and asked the restaurant manager about this, and the manager lied to you, it would be an ethical issue. Restaurants, just like food companies that sell packaged food in grocery stores, have to follow "truth in advertising" laws. If a restaurant manager lied to you about this type of thing, you could probably file a lawsuit.|||There is nothing wrong with the fact that most restaurants are not equipped with 8-10 fryers to cook all the different foods available. I am happy that Rab takes the time to dump his oil and clean the fryer before each order is prepared. If you have allergies or specific diet requirements and the restaurant does not take that into consideration then shame on them. Celiacs are the very common now and all we do is stove top fry a menu item and we would do the same thing for any other individual that requires special attention. As for Rab I would make him something with special sauce. You do not have to be a jerk! We are in the food service business not food servant!|||Well, 350 degrees....is NOT hot enough to kill all....Here is why I know....My husband is severely allergic to FISH and SEAFOOD....we have ordered fries for him at a Fast Food Restaurant that used the same fryer for Fish....He only had 4-5 french fries and had a bad allergic reaction. I called the the Fast Food place and let them know what had happened, and they were honest with me and told me yes they did use the same oil for the fish and the fries, eggrolls etc. We learned a valuable lesson. Now we let the waitresses know about his allergy as we order, to be sure they are aware of any cross contamination, as I can order seafood out as I have no allergy to it. I was told restaurants did have to have a separate fryer for fish and seafood, for just that reason. I could have gotten bad information, but that was the only time this happened to him in many many years.|||Hi,///// This is not good practice,not because it is a health problem to start with although it could become one. It is because whoever cooks like that is lazy and has no respect for the customer or themselves for that matter because the can hardly call themselves a cook. Mixing so many different things in the oil will taint it and shorten the life of it. My grandpa owned a restaurant for years and had one fryer for fish, one for chicken, one for beef, and one for non-meat products. May seem excessive to have that many fryers, but everyone swore the foods there tasted better.

I used to get this at Imperial Plaza in Lexington Kentucky, it had a certian twack, and I don't have any idea how it was made!|||Shrimp In Lobster Sauce 1 lb Medium shrimp - completely shelled, - tails removed, - cleaned and blotted dry -------------------------MARINADE-----鈥?1 Egg white; lightly beaten 1 ts Cornstarch 1 1/2 c Peanut oil for deep-frying ---------------------------SAUCE------鈥?1/2 lb Pork, coarsely ground 2 tb Peanut oil 1 1/2 tb Chinese fermented blk. beans 2 tb Coarsely chopped garlic 1 ts Finely chopped ginger root 2 Scallions; finely chopped 1 1/2 tb Thin soy sauce 2 tb Chinese rice wine -=OR=- Dry sherry 1/4 ts Sugar 1 pn Salt 1/2 c Chicken broth 1 tb Cornstarch; dissolved in 2 tb Chicken broth; (cold) 1 Egg; beaten with 2 ts Sesame oil MARINATE THE SHRIMP in the egg white and cornstarch for 20 minutes in the refrigerator. Fry the shrimp in 1 1/2 cups oil at a moderate temperature (325F). Or, to simplify, stir-fry them in a wok in 3 tablespoons of oil just until they turn opaque. Remove them from the wok. Brown the ground pork in 2 tablespoons of oil. Add the rest of the sauce ingredients. Bring them to a boil and add the cornstarch to thicken the sauce lightly. Turn off the heat. Stir in the beaten egg, pulling the clumps of egg into thin strands with chopsticks as they cook. My boyfriend and I have recently began eating Chinese take out very often (maybe 1 or 2 times a week to every other week), and I'm starting to wonder if its too much, and if it is unhealthy for you, like eating McDonald's all the time? Anyone have an idea??|||Most of Chinese food, especially in the USA, is full of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) which is very unhealthy and over 30% of the population has allergic reactions to it to one degree or another. MSG has also been linked to Alzheimer's. Not that it causes it but can be a trigger to set it off if you have it in your family history. go to a search engine and bring up information on MSG and you will never go near the stuff again.|||It could be.|||Yes. Some of it is even worse. It is not even real Chinese food. It's basically fast food.|||yes, it is. I thought it was a healthier alternative to basic fast food myself, till I watched a report stating that it has way too much sodium (salt) in it. It suggested breaking the meal up into two meals...one today and one tomorrow.|||seems like it.. i was actually wondering the same thing like the other day.. it tastes so good and its made fairly quick & easy, i dont think it can be too healthy for you|||Personally, I think Chinese takeout TASTES very much better than Occidental fast food, and it does usually have more vegetables, but it also has just as much fat and usually way, way more sodium. The secret to healthy eating is not precisely WHAT you eat but HOW MUCH you eat and exercise. Oriental cuisine can easily be part of a balanced diet and workout program, just as McDonald's and Burger King can be part of a healthy lifestyle.|||Chinese food are healthy and real food . I working at the chinese restaurant, you use fresh vegetables, meat and vegetable oil. even though all the meat , they trimmed all the fat. you can not compare as McDonald's. but i recomend order from restaurant , they are more fresh than fast food.|||It is generally healthier than eating fast food, unless you are sticking with things like Chicken Soo Guy, general Tao's chicken, Sweet and Sour anything or other highly processed foods . Outside of these dishes, the biggest problem is an overabundance of sodium, which is contributory to hypertension( high blood pressure) If you are mostly going for simple chow mein, fried rice and chop suey dishes and dishes with lots of vegetables, you'll do fine eating chinese a couple of times each week. The next biggest problem will come from the large amounts of MSG often used in North American chinese style dishes. some people actually react to the large aounts of MSG, and this is actually documented as 'chinese restaurant syndrome'. So, eat the simple dishes , with lots of vegetable, rather than the breaded and battered dishes and don't use too much soy sauce( very high in salt content) and you'll be better off than if you were eating burgers and fries on a regular basis, provided you don't have hypertension problems or a reaction to MSG|||Depends on how it is cooked and what you are eating. If you are eating mostly vegetables and white rice, you aren't doing too bad although brown rice would be better for you. You can reduce the fat by asking for your food to be cooked in broth and not fat. You are however eating a huge amount of sodium and probably MSG. Asian food is easy to cook at home, why not check out recipes online and start cooking real food for yourself? You'll have more control and feel better about what you are putting in your body. Here's a question for you, how many Asian people do you see eating at most "chinese" fast food places. They won't eat the stuff either.|||Yes ! I think I am paranoid but I get so scared to eat pork since I know someone that got the worm on her brain. I'm looking for a good Chinese beef and broccoli stir fry recipe (The way they make it for Chinese take out.) Every time my mom makes it the broccoli gets soggy and is not firm like the broccoli from the restaurants. Also, the beef doesn't taste the same (nor do we know how to make the sauce.) A mixture of cornstarch and egg white is made and the beef is placed in the cornstarch mixture then fried. The beef is removed and set aside. Stir fry your veggies, quickly and in a hot wok or skillet with hot oil. Place in the items needing the longer cook time first then the rest of the items. Including the beef. Sauce I have 2 recipes for you to try. #1 1 Tb dark soy sauce 1 Tb light soy sauce 1 Tb oyster sauce 1 Tb dry sherry 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 tsp sugar If you want the sauce thick add a bit of cornstarch and if you do that add a bit of water as well. About 1 tsp cornstarch and 1/4 to 1/2 cup water Beef and Broccoli recipe 2 Tb peanut oil 1/2 pound broccoli par boiled, thinly sliced 1 Clove garlic peeled and crushed 1 thin slice ginger-root or 1/8 tsp ginger 1 tomato seeded and cut into 6 wedges 1/2 - 3/4 pound flank steak cut across grain into slices 1/8 inch thick Heat oil in large skillet or wok add broccoli garlic and ginger, stir fry 2 minutes add tomato and stir fry 1 minute. Reduce heat and push vegetables to the side, or remove from pan if you don't have room, add beef and stir fry 1 minute, sprinkle in sherry. Mix remaining ingredients sprinkle over beef and fry 1/2 minute. This recipe does not say to twice cook the beef but I like the texture of the meat when it is coated in the cornstarch mixture. ( both are good.) Keep in mind the you will most likely never be able to accomplish at home what is done in a Chinese restaurant as you stove will never be able to put out the heat that the stoves at a Chinese restaurant can.|||Well using Fresh Broccoli is the key...And not to over cook it. I would Add the broccoli last. It's still edible, but not that appealing.|||This works for all types of rice: Add 1-2 tablespoons of water (preferably hot) to the container (if microwaveable). Report Abuse |||What I personally do is this Wet a paper towel and place it over the rice, and then place it in the microwave and microwave it for 2 minutes. It always comes out hot and moist for me. And trust me about it, I've eaten rice all my life and this is the way i do it and it works. They have great dumplings. You can also try Little Buhda on Cahuena, near Universal City.

I went to a Chinese restaurant not sure what to order and the guy didn't speak English so I left with a menu and here is the question What is the difference between Chow mein Low mein chop Suey and what do you ususally order from a Chinese take out?|||OK this is what I think not what I know...And it's going by what my chinese resturaunt serves. chow mein is crunchy noodles low mein is cooked soft noodles (kinda like spaghetti) Chop suey is just meat and veggies chopped up and cooked together I order sweet and sour chicken with the sauce on the side. Fried rice, low mein noodles, and an egg roll. Sometimes I will get egg drop soup but if I eat that I can't eat my chicken :) Hope it helps. i want to have it off by june next summer. i already lost 20 pounds but the weight loss slowed down. my plan is to work out an hour 4-5 times a week, and eat 1000-1500 calories a day. i know i will cheat every once in awhile and eat chinese take out but i mean about how many months you think it will take?|||Losing that amount of weight in ten months is a very attainable goal. That leaves you plenty of time to take it off in a healthy way (1-2 pounds a week) and to be very active, so that you'll be toned once you've reached your goal. How smart you are to start this early and not wait until the last minute...Good luck! |||Probably 5 to 6 months. I lost 30 pounds in about 3 months just watching what I ate and working out 4 to 5 times a week but it slows down the less weight you have to lose. Stick with it and don't get discouraged if it doesn't come off as quickly as you like. Eventually you will get there if you work at it. The main thing is that you will feel so much better. |||Well, to lose weight in a healthy way, you should be losing about 1-2 pounds a week. So in one month, at the most, you could lose about 10lbs. That way, I think it would take about 4 -5months. It's okay to cheat sometimes! Recently moved to Milpitas, and am looking for a good Chinese take-out restaurant in the area where I can order in English. Hoping to find someplace which serves good, "American" chinese food like sweet and sour pork and salt and pepper pork chops.|||Grand Palace (1628 Hostetter Rd Ste F San Jose, CA 95131) has really good chinese food, and it's closer to real chinese food than a lot of places IMO. I can't quite remember if the english translations on the menu are accurate or not, but you can definitely order in english. they have sweet and sour pork (it's a real chinese dish, not "american" chinese only!) as well. if you prefer something closer to american chinese food (i am of this opinion because the sweet and sour pork there is more ketchup-y than the authentic chinese ones), try mayflower at the great mall, milpitas. happy feasting!|||happy hunting have chop sticks will travel...................

I'm hungry, really hungry. Only two options I have are a cheeseburger and fries from a diner, or chicken and broccolli with white rice from a Chinese take out place. The Chinese food has a lot of sauce and I know it' filled with MSG and sodium. I'm really looking for the one with less cholesterol and fat, calories too but it's not that serious. Which one?|||It depends on the burger, but I think cheeseburger and fries are definitely more fattening. If you opt for the chinese food, you can minimize your fat intake by not drenching your rice in sauce. As one person suggested, you can ask for brown rice. Not all chinese food is fattening. It all depends on the dish. The broccoli in the chinese food will at least offer you vegetables, whereas a burger and fries gives you lettuce and tomatoes at most. That's not even a serving of vegetables. If you do go for chinese food, you can look for healthy options and avoid dishes that have the meat fried (i.e. sweet and sour pork, etc). Hope you found something that works for you. Enjoy.|||I would first have to say where each one is made and what oils they are made with. For example some cheeseburgers are baked. And Chinese food is almost always fried if it is fast-food. So depending how and what the meal is made should tell you, which is more fattening.
